I know this isn't the place for this but I never understood what the value of these is supposed to be. Is that something you can briefly educate me on?

Theory is they sit flush to the port compared to the factory sleeves thus should increase flow. Most likely a nice piece for an all out build, I have not seen anyone do any flow analysis compared to stock.

You might as well use these sleeves on your own engine, Mazda guys are too cheap to experiment

well I hope whoever bought them understood that the housings have to be machined for them to fit and have the flush fitment.

Correct, work is required to fit these. They are for an all out build, not a typical street car.

Not exactly sold, one of the sleeves somehow got lost in shipment so I'll be holding onto the other as a tribute to the rotary gods

Sorry to hear that.

I was thinking later that perhaps I was mistaken and he possibly had made some that sort of fit in without machining. Because I wasn’t aware that they could even be ordered separately without sending in the housings to be machined for them. Along with conversations I had with him about them. Was really bummed about the way things turned out on his end and all those unique parts and services are likely never to be seen again.
