Description:

Hey all, I purchased a TII convertible from someone in Florida. I was hoping for a turn-key car that needed nothing and the seller definitely told me what I wanted to hear. I shipped it to Indiana and it just isn't the car I was expecting. I have a '90 N/A as well, all original with 45K miles, and she is pretty close to perfect. It is also listed for sale here.  I just don't have the time to get this new addition where I want it to be, so I've decided to keep my '90 and sell the TII conversion. Since I called out the seller, he won't respond to my messages, so I will try to describe the car and answer any questions. I do have a large binder of info and documents, so I will do my best. I will be honest...a courtesy that I was not given. The car is an 89 with 136K on the chassis. I was told the donor S5 TII had low miles. The engine was rebuilt and has about 5K miles on it. A new clutch was installed with the rebuilt motor. Everything drivetrain is stock except for a full RB exhaust, BOV and Microtech LT-9c with an X4 IGBT module. It also has an a-pillar gauge pod with EGT and A/F gauges. It has new KYB struts, I believe lowering springs and it sits on RX-8 R3 19" wheels. I do have compression test videos - front 106, 104, 104 and rear 107, 109, 108.

The issues I have noted from my limited driving are as follows: Worn bushings, 3K hesitation (probably wiring/grounding/tuning), slight oil pan leak, small dings around the exterior (PDR should address this), small stitching separation on the convertible top (passenger rear) - no leaks noted - I washed the car, no rain.  Beyond that, the wipers only work on low/high, cruise control is non-functional and there is bolster wear on the driver's seat.  A/C is functional.

I do have the tonneau cover, targa bag and original BBS mesh wheels (minus center caps) that will go with the car.

i've always wanted a TII vert, but I simply don't have the time to put into it.  It is a sharp car, don't get me wrong!  It just isn't as sorted and clean as my N/A.  Maybe my expectations are too high and I have to accept that.  My disappointment can be someone's great deal.  I am listing for less than I paid and the price is OBO.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  I do have over a hundred pictures of the car that I can send to those interested.  Clean/clear title in-hand.

Thanks for looking!

Thank you Derek! It really is a nice car and would cost much more to duplicate. I just have too many other irons in the fire to devote the time and energy it needs to be completed.

You're in the Fort? Any 7/8 gatherings out there? I'd love to bring the '90 out sometime!
