FD3S 3.5" Exhaust System with a catalytic converter!

I was able to locate a 3.5" inlet/outlet metallic cat so I am now offering these systems with a cat!  As shown in the pictures below the front section can utilize the cat or muffler depending on usage.  For street use, the cat will be best to reduce noise, eliminate exhaust odor, and help control boost levels for those on factory twins.  If you're heading to a track event, simply loosen the four 15mm bolts, remove cat, install muffler, go racing.

Exhaust system overview:

-All Stainless Steel (pipe, flanges, clamps, mufflers, everything)

-Largest possible, yet high flowing mufflers to reduce noise and drone with the large 3.5” piping.  One muffler or cat in the midpipe and one large two stage muffler in the rear.

-Proper high temperature scrubble packing. THIS IS KEY, other mufflers internal material can degrade over time due to the rotary’s high EGT’s, common lack of cats, and will start to drone over time.

-Bolts to factory TT downpipe!   Even if your downpipe is only 3" this will bolt to it as there is a reducer welded in.  Perfect for owners who will chop that off later when moving to a 3.5” downpipe from a single turbo etc…

-Modular. Some might ask why the mufflers are not welded to the piping? 1: The piping is meant to be sent to your favorite ceramic coater to further improve performance and heat management.  2:  This will allow you to swap in the cat if you so desire.  3:  If you ever go single turbo you can simply replace the front section or cut off the 3" flange to bolt to a 3.5" downpipe.

-Light weight. ~27lb for the midsection and rear section!

-Clears all factory braces

-Available with either a straight tip muffler or dolphin tip.

***Cat FAQ***
-This cat is for street usage only.  None of these cats will survive a track day.
-Will it pass emissions?  Most likely not as if you look at the stock setup they were basically two giant cats the size gallon paint cans.
-This cat is simply to help reduce exhaust odor, reduce noise, and will help those with factory twins control boost with an un-ported waste gate.

$2,500 shipped for the full setup including 2 mufflers and 1 cat.   $2,250 picked up around Chicago.

Cat is 200cpi so should be a decent balance of airflow vs cleaning up the exhaust.

Sunday-Funday bump for an all business exhaust system! Lightweight, high-flow, and has a swappable cat/muffler for the best of both worlds. Drive on the street with reduced noise/smell and let it rip on track with the muffler in place of the cat!

Just to be clear the system includes:

1 Rear two stage high temp scrubble packed muffler
1 Single stage high temp scrubble packed mid section muffler
1 200cpi metallic cat

The mid section utilizes either the cat or the single stage muffler at a time, not all three together.

The 3.5" > 3" reducer is right at the front where it bolts up in the factory downpipe location. This makes it easy to modify if you run a larger diameter downpipe.

Article from Burns on repacking these mufflers: https://burnsstainless.com/blogs/art...15fa0511e9d483

This is what sets these apart from standard welded mufflers, they are rebuildable. Muffler packaging does degrade over time, especially if non high temp packing was used in the first place!

Friendly reminder these will bolt to a factory twin turbo downpipe and are easily modifiable for any single turbo setups. These mufflers are great at reducing the high pitch tones, leaving a more deep sounding exhaust. The swappable cat really helps reduce smell for street usage.
