Hey all, I'm looking for a working stock '93 (non-Bose) head unit to replace the aftermarket unit that came in my R1. The car is low mileage and mostly original, just needs a stock head unit to complete the interior.
Please PM or reply to thread if you have one. Thanks!

With OEM Base/R1/R2 radios difficult to find, a good option for an OEM look is the 1997-2000 Miata/Protege non-Bose CD radio. The illumination for the buttons and screen need to be changed from green to amber by changing out the bulb socks.
The diversity antenna plug from the FD is no longer used but radio reception is fine with the standard mast antenna connector. With your aftermarket radio, the diversity antenna is left unplugged already.
Also you gain the ability to plug in a Bluetooth module in the CD changer port behind this later Mazda radio. OEM appearance and Bluetooth make this a great option.

I have a working head unit that does not have the *****, side trim pieces that cover the din holes or the cassette door on it (i removed it to replace the one missing on my unit). If you have those other pieces from your old unit I can send this for $40 shipped.
Not an exact match for what you are looking for, but may be a hint that you might find yours in an in-period NB Roadster. I picked this up tonight on YAJ.
It has a pop-out TV unit. (Analog, unfortunately). Which would have been cool in 1996.
Similar units were a major feature in JDM FD options brochures, circa 1994~1996.
Thanks, but I'm looking for a Non-Bose unit, like would have came in the R1/base originally. And JDM head units are useless as they only go up to ~90 Mhz in the FM spectrum.
