Description:
I made a few extra of these ultra lightweight 3.5" exhaust systems: https://www.rx7club.com/group-buy-pr...tible-1143344/
Right now I have one dolphin and one straight tip available, both are setup to bolt to the factory twins downpipes via the 3.5" > 3" reducer.
If there is great demand, I would have to get a group buy going to make it financially viable. These systems are built with the best of the best mufflers and parts available that are suitable for the rotary.
To recap the group buy thread:
-All Stainless Steel (pipe, flanges, clamps, mufflers, everything)
-Largest possible, yet high flowing mufflers to reduce noise and drone with the large 3.5” piping. One in the midpipe, one in the rear section.
-Proper high temperature scrubble packing. THIS IS KEY, other mufflers internal material can degrade over time due to the rotary’s high EGT’s, common lack of cats, and will start to drone over time.
-Bolt to factory TT downpipe location optional via reducer. Perfect for owners who will chop that off later when moving to a 3.5” downpipe from a single turbo etc…
-Modular. Some might ask why the mufflers are not welded to the piping? 1: The piping is meant to be sent to your favorite ceramic coater to further improve performance and heat management. 2: This will allow you to swap in a cat if you so desire. 3: If you ever go single turbo you can simply replace the front section or cut off the 3" flange to bolt to a 3.5" downpipe.
-Light weight. ~27lb for the midsection and rear section!
-Clears all factory braces

Quality racing beat flange $30 plus shipping

SS pipe is not all the same either, many different gauges let alone type of stainless.
Last but not least, paying a local welder to do a professional job welding these is not cheap. Hell shipping these properly will cost around $200 via UPS.
Profab bought the muffler making from the original company Coast Fab who was making these mufflers for professional race cars etc... You can google the history. These are as good as it gets.

1. Get the whole thing ceramic coated for heat reduction
2. Swap out the muffler under the car for a cat of your choice, see picture below. You may need to weld 3.5" > 3" reducers on each end of the cat as 3.5" cats are not often easy to come by.
The clamps pictured were just temps, the system comes with the huge beefy stainless clamps.
This is one of the lightest, highest flowing, highest quality, modular systems available for the FD so you can easily adapt it to different setups and even add a cat!
In the mean time, I did test with an app on the phone: https://www.rx7club.com/group-buy-pr.../#post12404770
Once I get the FD back up and running I am also going to see if there is a quality off the shelf high flow cat to bundle with these.
Flyby videos once the weather in Chicago warms up a little.
It was a very nice exhaust and very very light compared to what is currently on my FD.
