TT FD3S vs S2000 w/ 2JZGT-E
Do i have any chance in beating this car...I am running full bolt-ons, ported wastegate at 13psi.
Is it worth trying to race an S2000 with a 2JZGTE Twin Turbo stock motor?
Planning on rolling from 45mph on interstate tonight let me know if I should risk it or not

well we all know what kinda baals the 2jz makes even stock. With the s2000 the power to weight ratio makes a difference. ive seen these cars run and their fassst. now if ur racing for cash go online and research on stock hp numbers and s2000 weight as opposed to supra weight. itll be a good race

well a stock 2jz has 320 horsepower and probably weighs a little more than an fd...I think it would be a close race but I would guess he would win. let us know the outcome.

as mentioned above, the stock S2k weighs around 29xxlbs. With the 2JZ we'll say maybe 30xxlbs. so assuming you have a base or R1, you'd have maybe a 200-250lb advantage. so his 320 vs your 255, you'd lose..
edit: Oh wait, I just read you have full bolt ons and 13PSI. Assuming you have an ECU that's mapped for that much boost, you'll kill him. easy.

I don't think so. IIRC the FD they had was MB.
I'll brbs with links to the thread from last year.

1:38 is the road test, pretty amazing if you ask me.
I am a HUGE 2JZ fan so i would have to lean towards the 2JZ powered S2k soley because i know what this engine is capable of. The getrag matched with this engine makes this car a high flyer from 60 on up.
I seen this over and over with supras and i would imagine this to be only a better runner when this engine/tranny in a lighter car such as the s2k.
Your ONLY chance of winning is if you can drive first of all, get a good launch and hope he doesnt get traction til about 3rd cause once he hits 3rd, he will reel you in like he's going fishing.
Guess what? You're the fish here buddy lol

Well you do have a chance, are you sure he didnt swap in a single?
Cause why would you swap in a 2JZ into an S2K and still use the stock twin turbo? That makes no sense. You're doing the swap for ultimate power to weight, those engines roar with singles.
Idk, if he does have the stock twin turbo, yes you do have a chance although my post still stands strong about them having awesome top end.
I suggest running from a dig and hope you get a good launch and he doesnt.

yeah, yeah, I respect fully built 2jz...stock ones with tt, NO. Even if you strap it to a bike frame.
The race is from a 45mph roll. weight does not seem to be an advantage to either car. Power seems in favor of the FD. How is he getting his *** handed to him????
If it was a full bolt on 2jz or single turbo I'd more than agree with you.

well supposedly hes on the stock twins, but my friend trying to convince me to race this guy says he has about as much done as I do and hes working on tuning it...so that obviously means hes got some higher boost/more airflow
i put down 322rwhp at 15psi in 3rd gear with stock catback..which is terrible, my boost controller was also bouncing like a racket ball. Ive finally straightened out the boost situation and its a flat number so...since im on stock fuel
Ill try 13.5psi, maintain 10.7-10.8 afr, ill pull back 1 degree timing from stock at 4500rpm +, and remove the stock catback so that I run full 3 inch\
I should be right at 300-315

Why dont you look at the car itself and find out what he has if you're really concerned about losing to him.
I highly doubt he still has the stock twin turbo in there but you never know.
And you dont need to have a "built" 2JZ to make some serious power. The engine has forged internals, capable OF achieving 1000HP on stock bottom end.
****, those engines can make 600RWHP on certain turbo kits with the stock fuel system.
All he needs to be a destroyer of worlds on the road is a T78 and he's set. Turbo good for massive power without touching anything.
I say good luck under that hood before you go crazy.

600 with the stock fuel sys. thats nice! I had no idea they had that much room to play with...then again, the stock tt max out at what?
i think it would make a pretty good race! Just run the guy...get it on vid!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd do it for the fun of it! but thats me.

Im not 100 percent sure but i believe 18psi.
Thats why its not worth it. If you can, cough up the extra dough and go with a fast spooling single that will sure enough range you in the 500-600.
I wont ever understand and i think its dumb to be "BPU". I hate that BS term. O yeah, my supra is BPU++++++++++++++++++++. That means its still tame.
Strap up a single and go hunting. lol

Well people have different ways of classifying cars as "stock" or not. If the engine is untouched, i call it stock, regardless if theres a T88 turbo with all supporting mods to it. I will say the engine is stock but the car isnt.
And i dont know about you but i have never seen a supra with the stock twins making 500rwhp.
They max out pretty quick. All this BPU+++++++++ and ---------, thats just for bragging rights but they still produce the same amount of power. lol
Its go single or go home.
