What a thrilling race, i was out driving my fast Rx-7, i saw a friend of mine pass me the other way in his bone stock DX Sedan. I caught up to him and we raced, we hung even in 2nd, about 10 seconds later, i shift into 3rd, my clutch slips for awhile and grabs the right RPM, i start inching on him in 3rd, or he let off, not sure...

We raced a few more times through the night, i was able to beat him, barely.

The only "modifications" to my car is a opened up carb breather, deleted cats and a thrush turbo muffler that chokes the engine back to what it was stock.

His car has a Borla turbo muffler, only because it was free and his stock one fell off when his sister was driving the car too fast over railroad tracks.

 

damn no offense, but u barely beat a d15? dats pretty slow. and an automatic at that.

I wouldn't embarass him, he knows his car is slow, he hates it, but it was passed down from his older sister.

Wha? The 81 I used to have would have smoked that, hell, I owned a guy in an older v6 accord! (Or maybe it was a 4 banger, not sure) AND TOOK THAT IN 3RD.

 

A joke, yeah, but it's a true story. I was honestly surprized i pulled on him at all.

 

I kept up with a Vtec civic once with my non-so stock 12A. Guy thought he had me. Guy was wrong.

 

"VTEC" means practically nothing, the guy i raced destroyed a VTEC Civic, but it was a D15Z6 (not D16Z6), the VTEC in that motor is only there for fuel economy. Single cam VTEC is pretty much worthless.

So your telling me that my bare bone stock Civic coupe with the D15 engine could give your RX7 a run for its money?!?

WTF I figured the RX7 even stock would be able to take a civic sedan no problem. The engines put out about the same HP but the RX7 is way lighter...

Wrong, my Civic EX coupe (heaviest of the 92-95 Civics) weighs 40lbs less than my Rx-7. I beat it, but it wasn't by much.

 

Is it a joke? I don't remember seeing any faces or jk. a auto d15 is slow as hell. I've stomp that car with my miata before i did a 1.8 swap and stomped with like 2 buses with my 91 na. and i know the fb aint dat slow.
