Stock Civic DX vs possibly stock 3000gt

Well this is my first attempt at writing a "kill" and I am guessing I will be flamed to hell.
So I was up in Fort Wayne in my old stock Civic DX visiting some buddies that went to IPFW and as I was leaving around 8:00 or 9:00 I came across this 3000gt. While I was passing him all I noticed was his louder then stock exhaust (most likely only mod). So as I am passing I down shift to second and speed up to 50 and then have to stop for the light. Well the 3000gt obviously didnt like that so he went 2 lanes over till he was right next to me at the light. Well this is inner city so the lights seem to last forever but I am sitting there and he gives it a rev so I am like "What the hell ill give it a try" So as soon as I see the oposite light turn yellow I rev to about 4000 rpm's and then as soon as it goes green I drop the clutch and let her go. I had an amazing start I must say and didnt miss a single gear while it did kinda grind dropping into second and spinning tires a bit. So Im going and I get to about 50 or 60 on a 45 and look back and the gt is like 4 lengths behind me. I am not exactly sure how thats possible but maybe he had the 4cyl version and an automatic either way he got owned by a civic ha ha ha. Later on that night I got pulled over for 76 on a 60 and got my first speeding ticket... Well thats all kinda boring and short but I wanted to give it a try.

Coming asap kills in my TII

Possibly a SL model 3000GT. There were never any 4cly models made, but the SL might as have been because they are SLOOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!! Almost 4,000lbs with less than 200hp... yeah.

Was that necessary? Its not in the rules.

All I know is it was hilarious watching this supposedly sports car get beat by this little economy car that gets almost 50mpg.

These are RX-realated only, mister.

LS1, SR20DET, 2JZ, or other piston powered RXs are included, but not a Honda. Never a Honda.

How would you feel if I said my Tracer beat a snail? You'd feel like ****, because that snail died in the hot sun! He died of dehydration! How would you feel?!

^Really? Have you actually read the sticky at the top of the kills section? It doesn't say it has to be an RX-7 only kill...

an sl would eat up even civic si, ur thinking of the base model which came out after 97 which was a single cam engine which made 168, the Sl's (dohc) made 220HP and they moved pretty well

I bet your right I didnt look at the car very well im just going off what my friend said it was. I blame it on the other drivers start still because I had an almost perfect go while he screwed something up. First kill and dont worry Im not saying my civic was fast at all lol. I was beat by a diesel silverado so ya not a fast car. By the way the civic had a jdm engine and transmission even though they were still stock setup for the car. Under 35000 miles.

3kgt had a sohc and the SL was a dohc with 225 "factory rated crank" hp.

Wrong, and wrong. SL/base models run low 15s out of the box, they're 3200-3400 lbs (base/SL) and they're rated at 222bhp but only dyno like 170 but have a good amount of torque. It was most likely the 160hp SOHC model that you raced, or a higher model that was running like ****.

So no it wasn't a "sports car" that you raced, VR4s arent even classified as sports cars, you're just too ignorant to know any better.

Seriously though, stop posting these dumbass kills. Post this type of **** in the lounge. If you didn't meet up with the owner and set up a drag race then you didn't beat him, therefore its not a kill.

Sorry man, but I gotta call you on this comment. First off all, a drag race is a LEGAL race takes place at the track with safety equipment and personnel. An ILLEGAL street race is not drag racing.
Second, your saying he didnt set up the race ahead of time so it doesnt count.
LOL! Theres plenty of un setup kills in here. Besides, why are you saying he didnt beat him? Sounds like he won to me even if it was luck.

you're right about the no 4-bangers thing, but wrong about the 4000lb thing. The SL models weighed in at maybe 3200lbs. You realize the reason the VR4 was so much heavier than the 300ZX and Poopra was because of the AWD system, right? The low end model 3kGTs are FWD.

lol, who said it has to be legal? Pavement is pavement, full throttle acceleration to a 1/4 mile is all it is. If you'd have rather had me say "street drag racing" because of the small differences (no timer, flagging, handicaps, road surface) then I apologize for mis using the word if it really gets to you

Sure some people don't set up races and just run into people on the street, the reason that doesn't bother me as much as this is the fact that their cars are at least built for drag/highway racing so the kill is still entertaining. This thread was more like "my POS beat another POS so I feel better about myself". The OP had absolutely no knowledge of the car he raced and continued to make ignorant comments about it.

The reason I said he didn't beat him because the 3000GT owner might not have been racing since the race wasn't even set up. I know if I was in a 12 second BPU VR4 and a stock civic came and did a fly by I wouldn't even bother looking in his direction...

Yeah, I knew about the FWD and all and I do realize that the AWD system adds weight, but they are still pretty damn heavy for having only 210crank hp (or whatever it is), meaning if it was an auto, it'd zap alot of that power before it reached the tires. My brother's friend had an SL auto and it was a PIG!!! My brother beat him with his gutted MX3 (4cyl model), only "mods" being intake, open header (actual header, not manifold, he made it at the airboat shop he worked at, lol), MSD coil (rigged to work I guess, IDK) and relocated battery.

owned ha ha ha. The 3000gt I drove wasnt very fast at all.

Dont worry next time I write one of these it will be my rx-7 turbo and hopefully a legal one so that everything is fair. I believe the guy was trying to race only cuz he revved at me and I made it obvious I wanted to try. Sorry my first one sucked so bad!

Screw catching me in my FD at a light, don't catch me at a light in my girlfriend's accord, it'd romp all over a base model 3kgt. You must not've raced many Hondas if you've never gotten beat by one.
