Rx7 vs STI???
I ran an STi in my GSL-SE/S4 TII swap with intake and exhaust. It was a 1/10th mile drag race at the local speedway and I lost by a car. He got a better launch, AWD vs. me with 215/60-14 Indy 500s. After the lauch, we pulled about the same. With my drag radials, I think we would be even or I might clip him by a little.
I raced an STI with my old modded Turbo II and it was a good race. I had a streetport with a 35R boosting 10 pounds untuned. and it was close I beat him by a car and a half out the dig there monsters tho.
i was headfirst in wrx/sti's for a few years before 7's and i helped build my friends 06 with perrin gt35r .82a/r and accessport tuned stock block..we put down 527 awhp and 450 sumthin' tq at 30 psi with alky inj and 110. Revving to the stock 7k rpm the power band is very narrow and with a large turbo like that and since racing from a roll is not a awd's strongpoint, brakeboosting is necessary and it will affect the outcome of a roll race dramatically. Also i read someone said to turn up the boost...nonononono do not f with the boost on a subaru..you have to tune for boost increase so the motor recieves adequate fuel AND timing. EJ's are very reliable but the tolerances are so tight and just like every engine they have their quirks...wow..sorry its been a little while since i talked about subaru's and to jump on the bandwagon my friend raced a fd with pfc(i think he said) and int/exh and beat the **** out of it on a roll...cant say how many cars but i'd say 10 by 100mph from a 45 roll brakeboosting. There cant be just a general statement of car vs. car..you have to consider weight, layout(rwd, awd, etc.), power and gear ratios. Sorry for ranting..its raining and im bored.
When my car was stock and only had the "non-sequential" mod performed, I raced a friend's mildly modified STI for my first race in the car. I raced him from a roll, twice, from 30mph. Both times, I beat him by multiple car lengths.
Now that we have both performed extensive upgrades, it's time to set up another match. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to have the same results as last time
