I dunno why you guys think that RSX S are slow?? When my FD was bone stock i was even with one stock up to 130.Multiple runs. I had stock DP and Cat, as soon as i put a dp and highflow with stock catback I rpaed him on the freeway.

the 05+ models are much faster than oder ones. My cousins stock 05 pulls on my friends 04 which has CAI, ECU reflash. The 04 one PULLED on a stock rx8 6sp.

Oh and BTW, all you guys that say a SUPERCHARGED RSX type S will keep up with a stock FD are dumb..... k20s can make 250whp N/A easily and Supercharging then will get them into the 300whp range w/ 5psi pully. That is very respectable.

I raced a rsx s wtih race header, catback, cai,k-pro with tune 245whp when i was at 300whp and it was actually a lot closer than one would think. I definitely did not RAPE him, but did win.

206whp with bolt ons are 75 shot of nitrous?????!!!!! That is probably the non type S which is completely different than the type S engine. It dosent even have real valve timing. A turbo Base rsx LOSES to a type S with bolt ons.

I gotta go with Armen on this one, RSX Type-S's are nothing to scoff at, especially if they're heavily modded. I believe a few stock ones have gone high 13's before and i/h/e combos have hit low 13's. Most RX7's should be able to knock them out, but for most mild 7's, it'd be a fun race.

either it wasn't a type s or that engine was going trough bad times. an rsx type s with basic bolt ons and a 75 shot has to be in the 220whp easy n/a.

Hence the reason he was so disappointed. For what he had he expected to have near 300hp, although not possible, but yes a respectable number of 220-230hp is what I expected, and of course he did not hit that...

Armen: I speak from experiences of N/A and Superchrged RSX type-S that I have raced. The only one that kept up with my FD was the supercharged one that I raced and it was dead even with my car running 4 psi (boost leak) and a dp and catback.

I'm not a Honda hater having owned one before my FD, I just speak based on my personal experience.

There is also a local turbocharged RSX type-S I believe he has the GReddy kit, it might be HKS, but he hasn't reached 300hp at 7 psi... I think he was 260-280 range

i guess the drivers werent that good i used to own a 06 type s they put down around 178 stock and i've beaten an rx8 in the 1/8 3 times. a type s is not that slow of course it would lose to a turbocharged car because its doesnt hit peak hp till around 7800rpm vtec doesnt even kick in to around 5500. and a type s does not weight more than an rx7 as like most fwd sport vehicles they are lighter compared to their rwd counterparts (type s weights around 2600 lbs by the way)

i recently watched an acquaintance's type s(newer one) pull away form my friends rx8 with greddy exhaust.

same night another friend raced him from a roll in his evo, and it hung with him until over 100mph, then the evo walked away.

My fd pulls 2-3 cars on said evo, soo.... yeah

i think MOST fd's will pull away from mild bolt on rsx's. but if the right person is driving the rsx it has a very good chance.

this topic was played out A LOT on the 350z forums. The Z guys HATE the rsx, and visa versa for the rsx guys. the rsx forum says...."all i need is I/Headers/exhaust and hondata and i will smoke you" and the Z forums always responded with ...."you're WrongWheelDrive, and ugly" lol it never ends

lol yea whenever i see my cousins on "Clubrsx" i always see the 350z vs RSX threads going on forever. Same with SRT-4's.

Just for kicks, heres a pretty cool video of Supercharged RSX vs an EVO. BTW the competch s/c is carb certafied and dosent void the warrant on the RSX which i think is pretty cool.

VTEK is for drivability, not power. From a roll it wouldn't make a diffrence.

Let me remind you guys we're not talking about an RX-8 beating a RSX-S, we're talkin about n FD... Totally different cars... The RX-8 was a disappointment to me as a successor to the FD... It is slow. And YES I have driven both. And RX8 doesn't compare to an FD

Your wrong. Vtec is made for power for honda engines. In the evo, Mivec is to compensate lag so thats for drivablility.

8's aren't successor's to the FD's....that's why they're called 8's.

I think it's funny that my STS2 NA FC ties with an STS RSX-S and beats an SM2 350Z.

That being said, the FD should have no problem against the RSX.

What I meant by that was the next in the line of production rotary vehicles, not the "new" 7... Cuz that's supposedly in the works... And looks hideous, but that's a whole nother topic

And make sure you do it on the street, preferably in a residential area or busy street.

And tell Nick Hogan hello while you're at it.

You guys are the problem for street racing that we have rite now. You should be saying go him on a closed road course. Show him what the fd is about...
