I dont know about the z28 but in nevada they got a few LS-1 camaro SS without the hood scoop. Full SLP gear with 400 something horses, more than a stock SS. I have seen them 4 times on my way back and forth from LA. Bad Mo Fo's for a cop car IMO.

it reminds me of a funny thing i saw on the news:

some kid has a silver camaro here in nc, and he made it look like a trooper and acted like a cop...well, he put stobes in it and pulled people over on I-85, and told them they could give him some cash or he would write the ticket....so he ripped a few people off...but yeah, those bitches will roll....

The police addition camaros are fast! Trust me, i was moving one day, and the camaro trooper caught up to me no problem. I was on my bike. I'm not used to seeing cars move that fast.

The camaros are nice patrol cars. But unless they have been modded they are pretty slow.
The department I work for has 2 Mercury Marauders, with KB blowers and alot of other stuff done. They are insane. We dynoed one at Walker and it hit about 560RWHP. They dont handle as well as a PI crown vic....but they are great for interstate runs. We just got pusher bars for em so we are waiting to see what a 500HP PIT looks like.

im sorry folks, but running from the cops is just stupid. 9 out of 10 times, if you "get away",
its because they let you. cops dont play. i know a guy where i live that ran from the cops and "got away" 3 times so he says. funny thing is that the first time he tried that crap, they got his license plate # and let him go. all they where waiting for was for him to meet up with the local street racing ricers one day and bam, they got his *** and all the other dorks that showed up. according to him, they just followed him in an unmarked car to the races and he got caught. hes in jail for a year now by the way.

Manb, I wish we would get some of those!! Jeez, I'd probably get more speeding tickets than I give!!!! I know FHP has some Marauders, but I don't know if they have anything done to them.....
We got those shitty Ford expeditions, a few tahoes, and a crap load of Impalas. I hate the impalas, there ALWAYS breaking down, light bars are always shorting out for some reason.

Just saying if he was here in my state and tried that stunt with me. I don't appreciate it when punks get big ***** and decide they would rather run and put other people lives in risk instead of being a man and facing the consequences. If he did run, he's lucky he didn't hit some soccer mom taking her kids around town. I've seen chases that ended badly, and the victims were children, and an infant killed becuase some one decided to run instead of facing the music and getting a $120 ticket.

no offense to the cops on here.. but radios dont mean **** if you dont know where the car is and you cant get the plates if they get close enuff for plates i wouldnt never run but if you pass me and flip arround and i can get away sorry but im going for it.... z28 or not it still handles like a linebacker in a ballet.. and crown vics may as well just drive off the cliff.. i out ran a crown vic on a moderate road in a almost stock ae86 go 100 hp! yes granted i would not ever run from a cop in town but in the back roads anytime.. plus cops here are ****** they give tickets for the stupidest ****. i got pulled over because one of my headlights was brighter then the other. really its just a reason to pull over and do a checkup.. sorry if you dont have a good reason to nail someone then why do it? its a powertripping dick move. oh and i love how cops here just flip arround an run red lights just to get behind you with out there over heads on.. can i write them a ticket?

I'm sure there are Police Officers out there who have pulled some "powertripping dick moves", but I respect any man or woman who is willing to step up and risk their lives to protect us civilians. Call them what you want, but if you hate them so much, then try to imagine what this country would be like without them.

Food for thought.

Crown Vics with the PI package (Sway bars etc etc ) handle GREAT. I work in a city with ALOT of curvy roads and Ive never called off a chase due to being out handled. And we average about 2 decent chases a week.
Your right though, some cops are dicks..power hungry ********. But, they give the rest of us good ones bad names. People now stereotype all cops as dicks...which simply isnt the case. I wont be a dick to you unless you start getting an attitude with me. If your nice to me...Im nice right back...and more than likely you wont be getting a citation unless youve done something to endanger other people.

blueS5: where you work man?

the only reason i tryed to run was to make it back to the house before he caught me, i never had the intent to get away i just didnt want to shut the car off before i got home because i didnt think i would get it started again and i was in the middle of nowhere.

Exactly. If they're parked in a 45 zone and I'm only doing 60 with other traffic involved, there isn't much room before they can speed up and get the plates or flash the lights.

But if I'm on the interstate, they're going in the opposite direction, they cross the median when they catch me doing 100+, and I know there's an off-ramp not too far ahead...I'm busting my *** and weaving between cars to make it there. That's an expensive ticket.

(But usually the only time I really go that fast or highway race is 11pm or later, so it's never really a problem)
