Not really... At least from my "rx7 defense" standpoint. Those guys were spewing ignorant 'Rx7 stigma' nonsense. THAT was kind of lame. Not to mention there were about 10 pages of, "good job" or "that is so cool" regarding their LOSS to the FC. The reason they were so stoked is because of that ghetto-***, biased write-up that hated on the SpeedMachine Rx7 and made it sound as if a pink, single-cam Honda were God's gift to the "under-dog lover in all of us". What a bunch of BS. I read all 3 of those threads and I was hoping for any sort of Rx7 defense... There were like 3 comments in the 30 pages that mentioned Rx7's without saying something negative.

Whatever. Rx7 > Civic in every-single way. Period. If you don't believe me, watch Pinks and find out for yourself.

Sorry I'm a little late coming into this conversation, but isn't that the show where they race and give the other car so many car lengths to make it fair. Then at the four race they hope they have worked out the lengths for the head starts and they hope to have a some what close race?

 

read the whole thread it explains that but basically the 2 racers negotiate before they run to determine the lengths and so on

 

Now why would you do that when your cars on the line? It seems kind of dumb to me, but I'm probably missing something.

how does it not make sense. the two teams negotiage to determine a reasonable head start for either car. if you have a feeling your car needs a head start you egotiate to get it.

ONE IS FASTER THAN THE OTHER SO HE THINKS THAT HE NEEDS SOME SPACE. sometimes they cheat. the first one i saw the guy was running low boost always smoking this car. the other car wanted more space so when they ran the slow car won. but on the last run the other guy ran high boost and smoked him even with 5 car lengths

 

I just read the thread and I didn't realize that the negotiations were the biggest part of this competition and the race was second. I guess this is the only way to make it fair when you have to very different cars lining up. It just leaves a lot to trust between the two racers, I would be worried that someone might sand bag a few runs just to get the head start they need to win.

I'll have to keep my eye out for the next time this is on Speed.
