some of those cars on pinks are insanely fast. like the corvette vs the mustang. they ran low 9's the whole time. now id like to see the 7 go after something like that!

In fact, I'm considering modifying it... to get better gas mileage. That's what a civic is for. Modifying a civic for speed is like modifying your Lamborghini Diablo in the pursuit of fuel economy... it's just not the point, and while it is perhaps interesting as a technical exercise, it's utterly pointless in practice.
You've obviously been passed over by the Hot Rod fairy. Go rent American Graffiti and tell me again that it matters what kind of car you have.

On the season 2 premiere (I believe it's Feb 16) you'll see a pretty quick Mustang owned by Justin from JPC. We have a saying for Justin - "Burcham on the Bumper"

Is that the Civic vs Mustand episode? Did they already tell you the premier date for your episode, or are you guessing? I am trying to find out for sure on ours so I can have a grand opening party at a sports bar and get hammered while I relive the *** woopage...

I don't know if this has been posted yet...but I heard that the Civic won the first race & lost the others cause a ic coupler broke or something like that, or atleast thats what they are saying on honda-tech.com

Second race – we “take the bottle out” give them 2 lengths, they bog, tony rips them out of the hole, car slows down at the beginning of the track, the rx7 pulls off the win?

Third race, tony tries to do a 3rd gear burnout, the car can barely spin the tires. He launches, the race is over, RX7 wins

Fourth race, we think the motor is done, I hustle as many lengths as we can, the car is going nowhere. We lose the car.

Torn intercooler coupler is deemed the problem! So even when you think you have your **** together, the simplest and stupidest crap goes and kicks your ***!!

The intercooler didn't tear any coupling. They just didn't tighten them correctly. Plus when you have to make a car run 28psi of boost to make it quick, **** happens. The car runs run now that we took off the wack *** boost controller and made their "wiring" job better. That is just anger that they lost, period

Their car will be on eBay if we don't blow it up first. We are just waiting for the episode to air, then off that thing to someone else to have fun with.

Just for the record, I never did, nor do I think my car runs 9's. I am only running 12lbs of boost still...

Yup, my car is basically built out of spare parts laying around the shop. I had $2k into it, so I really didn't care if we won or lost. hahaha

No the thread got closed monday. A user said something stupid about rx7's, I commented, & a mod closed it before a flame war started.

that's awesome. That car was really impressive looking at RR. I really wish you guys could have run the autocross though. THAT would have been cool.
and I loved the shocker decal on the sunroof.

I still think we would have won even if their car had been 100%, but for sure it would have been close. Their boost problem didn't start until the last race, or theywould have asked for time to repair it or look at it, or asked for more car lenghts. They were pretty cool at the track. I would be suprised to see alot of them talking smack. Maybe they are talking about their car with the refference to the 9 sec thing? We did think it was fast because we had heard it went 11.2 the night before, and we haven't even taken ours doen the 1/4 mile yet!

I think it will maek good tv for both shops, and the viewers will like it.

From the reads on the threads you can tell that those guys were pretty cool.
