Personally I just see the 7 being slightly better in every aspect of driving/racing with the exception of power potential in only the highest modded supra's.

I would think even the NSX is more pleasurable. Supra's are not exotic. It's not like driving a Lamborghini or something. Geeks lol

The RX7 has many strong points, but the main reason the RX7 shines in my eyes is becuase of its power to weight ratio. I mean the car is only in the high 2,000lbs and can make a real good amount of power!

I loved the 2ZZGE motor, I had it in my celica. That was a very fun car to drive as well.

supra's sound like a orgasm, that screaming I-6 is just magic. one time i was cruisin at about 80 and all of a sudden i hear this buzzing, hrm what could that be? before i can turn my head, a supra with a monsterous pipe goes screaming the **** by tailed by a c5 if i was going 80 they must've been doing at least 110

my buddy has a supra with these mods: intake, dp, full exhaust, intercooler and boost controller and put down 410hp, i think at 17 or 18 psi. he kept up with a GSX600R all the way up to 165mph..

those 2jz's can sure take alot of boost even on a stock block...

yup, there are people who are doing 900hp on a stock bottom end (dont know how reliable or safe that is) but they work lol

one of my supra friends did an n/a to single conversion..its a monster and it only makes about 500rwhp..i mean the sound man, the damn sound of the engine when doing pulls on the highway is just omg...lol

like a 2JZ sound will never be boring..i know sometimes i love the way my car sounds and sometimes i just want either quiet or a fun sound..when im on the highway and i punch it, i get the same boring buzzing sound..a 2JZ will never get boring, it will always sound good for whatever mood you're in..

we should just turn this thread into, "supras are great" thread..LOL

Well I was shocked after the race, even though I knew I was going to lose. But I didnt think by that much.

So now lets compare a stock RX7 to a stock Supra. What would the outcome be in that?

If I were to have an exhaust and downpipe added to my stock Supra, I just dont see how I could gain those 2 cars he had me by with just those mods. Maybe its because I am used to modifying inline 4's??? lol

But I have been reading that adding a downpipe, which eliminates both cats on a Supra, nets about 30-40hp gains. So add an exhaust and those are some incredible gains!! Hard to believe though.

im pretty sure you can take the FD if you do intake/dp/exhaust on your supra..especially off a roll, supras have amazing top end..you'll take him..

Buy a used downpipe, cat back, MBC, and a Greddy BCC (~$600). Pop in a set of NGK 6097s and add half tank of 100 oct, reset ECU and set boost to 18 psi. Race again, you'll be amazed.

I am not really too sure, the 97 models were limited edition and came with the badges on the side fenders and also there is a limited edtion badge in the car. I guess they just didnt manufature too many that year.

All 97's are limited editions. They just got special badging. It was probably just a ploy to sell more as they lowered the price by $10,000 that year also.

The 2JZ crank and rods are forged, but the pistons are cast.

You should register at supraforums if you haven't yet, there is a wealth of information there. That is, if registration is open...

That was the first place I tried to register at but it said registration was closed. Why would it be closed? Maybe the site is down?

I like the Supra too, with the blue color from 97 being my favorite since having seen a friend's here in Atlanta, but I'll just let ulost2my7 be the more vocal of the "foaming at the mouth for a Supra" crowd Although I do wonder why you haven't sold your 7 to get the Supra yet with all the pro supra love you've been giving it.

No the site's up, but registration was closed due to the outragious number of trolls that come just to cause trouble. So I guess it's still closed.

PM me your email addy and I'll PM it to an admin on SF and maybe they'll let you in.
