So the Z06 driver can't launch. Get that guy some skills coming out of the hole and he'd be leaving you in the dust. He ran a 12.57? That Z06 car is a low 11's car stock, and high 10's with just DR's.

Wasn't the guy who got high 10's with just dr's like the ultimate zo6 driver. He did it at certain altitudes and examined his logged data for shift points and made hundreds of runs, etc. Or is a 10 more common now with just dr's cuz I only read about one.

 

You're talking about Ranger. And no, he only has done 'hundreds' of runs in the older C5 Z06, netting an 11.71(or was it .81) 1/4 mile on a stock C5 Z06. With a C6 Z06, he grabbed an 11.21(give or take) and 10.85 with DR's after 70 runs. Meaning, a competent driver could still get an 11.3-11.5 and 10.9's with DR's. Hell even the car magazines were pulling mid 11's with a stock C6 Z06. As I said, you beat a guy who can't launch.

Would be like racing me vs racing my friend who I bought my S/C vette from. I can't launch to save my life(this Z driver was spinning and bogging bad), but my friend has been drag racing for 20 years(his launch would have been similiar to the FD's in the video depending on what tires the FD is running). You'll kill me with a slower car every time out of the hole, but Tom will get you from the 60' on.

Good run by the FD, but you're going to need faster times if you're going to race a guy who actually knows how to launch.

Exactly that rx7 is bad to the you know what.And Juiced I never said anything about that car being mine, I just posted what I thought would be an awesome video.Anyways Okay so maybe that corvette would of wooped on that rx7 if maybe it had a better driver.We could start a whole argument right know about, z06 potentil of dig verses rx7 or of a long run, see I dont care the point the here is that Rx7 wooped on that por boy, and then with a bad clutch wooped on that turboed camaro.I mean you did watch the whole video correct

Well if you watch the very first race at the track, you can see that he nails the brakes at the top of third so that rx7 isn't a 12 sec car either. Looks to be at least mid 11's.

I clearly explained that there was a lot of brake slamming and miserable clutch failure on my Rx-7. In the Vette's defense, he was a rookie (though decent) driver, and on street tires. It was not my intention to "unfairly" beat up the baddest supercar you can get under $100k. I work for a huge GM dealer as a tech for years now and we service many Z06s. It is one of my dream cars and extremely stupid fast bone stock.

The guy that ran the low 11s / high 10s in one though was a pro racer on his like 200th pass. All of the magazines that have tested it got low 12s at 116-117ish. So the average driver will not go faster. Thanks for watching, that sure brought back a lot of good old memories.
