FD vs. 91 300zx tt

went out tonight at about 12 am to meet up with the local dudes, and the 300zx guy would finally run me. Well we rolled to the main highway and waited at the light where we had to make a left onto the highway. As we got the green, we both lined up in 1st gear at about 20 mph and I did the 3 honk thing. We we basically dead even the whole way down to the end of my 3rd into some 4th (prob about 105-110 mph).

yeap not a fun kill really but the 300zx has

Full exhaust 3"
Upgraded ECU with boost set 2 lbs over stock
intake with hardpiping
all intercooler hardpiping
lightweight flywheel
street disk clutch
plugs wires

My car has -
K&N filter
3" downpipe 3"cb
stock cat
stock IC
stock airbox
stock tranny and drivetrain components
bur9eqps all the way around w/ 8mm wires

so im pretty happy with that dead even, we're going to go again once I get my 1300s , IC, fuel pump, 13 lbs of boost, airpump removal, pullies, ported TB and UIM, midpipe back on, and tuned by kan. Wont be a match then

Is he doing anything? with that list a bus length maybe 2 is not totally out of the question lol
pretty good kill considering how close to stock you are! Did you brakeboost? Did he? 9 out of 10 times I chose not to but it makes about a car lenght difference on take off!

z has coil packs. 2lbs over stock is around 11-11.5. You pretty much get that just from mods (intake, full exhaust, ecu will net you like 10-11psi without any form of boost control). This sounds about right. 11psi on a Z isnt a big jump over stock. 13 is better, 15 is great, and 18 (with supporting mods/good gas) kicks ***. His 2lbs boost was just about enough extra HP to make up for the weight difference between your cars.

nice runs man. stock for stock the Z and the FD are pretty evenly matched. Just scary that a 400hp RX7 is like the equivilant of a 500+hp Z lol.

usually 95% of cars Stock boost is 7psi ...
on my R33 gts-t it was 7psi , i was running 16psi on almost everything stock ...
( 0-200 kmh: 14.7 sec, 0-280 kmh : 28.9 sec )

and a sr20 is 7 psi stock too , i got like 7-8 of my friends who have them

7psi stock on an SR20...ewwy Z was one of the lucky ones that got 9-9.5psi stock. 7psi would be in safety boost on a Z

My buddy raced a supposed 500 hp 300 ttZ in his to4 single fd putting down about 375 to the ground. I was behind them. He pulled by about 8 cars on him and I even ended up ahead by 2 or 3!
