FD lines up with C6 convertible

So I pull up next to this red C6 convertible at the stoplight. Each of us first in our lanes, waiting for the light to change to green. I glance over at him, and he gives me a nod. He looks to be mid 30's, sunglasses ......... he's cool. He's got his buddy in the car with him. Maybe out looking for a little fun.

There is no one in front of us. Looks like we have enough room to get up to at least 70-80 before coming up on traffic. I see the cross light changing to yellow. The tension mounts. I hope I don't blow the launch!!! The light changes!! I slip the clutch perfectly, and don't spin the tires. I get up to about 3500 rpm, and smoothly shift to 2nd. I'm pulling on him. This time I run it all the way up to 4500 rpm before shifting. I'm killing him. I must have 7-8 car lengths on him by now, and pulling away easily. I shift into 3rd, and its over!!!!

I don't want to hear anyone calling Bullshit on this. It's a true story. Did I forget to mention that I am breaking in a new motor, and have to take it easy, or that neither of us was racing????

Sorry, I couldn't resist

I am not calling B.S. but the guy was not driving the car or was spinning the tires . Shifting @ 4500 rpms and the turbos are not even spooled up. c6's are pretty respectable. G

Yeah, I missed a good opportunity!! I really can't go very hard on the engine yet. Still breaking it in, while waiting for my PFC to arrive from Japan. Once it gets here, the bigger secondaries go in, and it gets tuned. Even if it was completely broken in, I couldn't push it past 6K without nearing my injector & fuel limits. The motor has a mild port, and new 99 J-Spec turbos.

I didnt know you were lacking the full set up. You were right to smile and slid. Like i have said i broke mine in on the parking lot heat cycleing the motor and then on to the dyno! With a new motor if there is a problem i dont want to wait 6 mos to find out. Its finally getting the compression up at 1800 miles. Good non kill!

lol.....good one, Adam!
To have REALLY reeled them in, you could have gone into much more detail, like how your hands gripped the wheel in nervous anticipation, how you thought you noticed a bead of sweat forming on the 'Vette driver's face, how time seemed to stand still as you both waited for that light to turn green...

I like all that. Must have happened, and I missed it in all the excitement.

It's just for fun Nick . If you were smarter, you would have figured that out. If you really didn't care, you wouldn't have posted. So, not only are you not very smart (which you have proven), you are also a liar.

Next time you are breaking in a motor, please race someone. The thousands of dollars you have invested will certainly be worth throwing away in order to try and gain 10 seconds of satisfaction. Grow up moron!!!!

You shouldn't try to be a comedian, your no good at telling jokes... and it really wasn't that funny...
Atleast bajaman could have added a little more humor...

Your uterus will feel better when your motors broken in... hopefully...

Good luck with your ride! Hope you don't lose the next race.

I thought it was hilarious, I don't know what this dude's problem is. Nice one Adam, I love "kills" like this, haha.

This one was like that thing back in school where the first line tells you to read the whole thing before answering any of the questions and the last line tells you to only answer the first question or whatever and everyone tries to answer all the questions cause they didn't read the whole thing and the teacher only gives you like two minutes to do it and you're like WTF. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Did that even make sense? Haha.
