02 Z06 Vette vs 97 Supra TT
So my buddy just purchased a stock 2002 6-speed blue Z06 Corvette. I called him up to check it out. When I saw it I was very happy with his choice, the car only has 10,000miles on it and was owned by an older gentleman in his 50s. My friend purchased the car for $33,000. So he got a good deal I think. He also got to check out my car as well. It was funny because we both worked our way up to where we are now, starting with inline 4 n/a cars then boosted inline 4s and finally the big inline turbo 6’s and v8 monsters lol.
So after talking a while, we decided to get some runs in. all runs were done off high way 3rd gear roll on. The first couple of runs, I felt that my car was pulling harder, not sure if my stock intercooler got heat soaked and slowed me down on the later runs. But we got about four runs in. but I will just share the last run since we thinks it was the most fair.
Supra modification:
HKS 4inch Titanium Exhaust
3.5inch Downpipe
Manual Boost Controller set at 17-18psi
Z06: Stock
We started off a 3rd gear roll, matched speeds, then on the 3rd beep we were off. It was even from the start, then I shift to 4th and we are still very close, but I am slightly ahead. In the middle of 4th gear my rear bumper is at his passenger side mirror. Shift to 5th and it is about the same, my rear at his front bumper. We then shut off.
I was shocked on how strong the Z06 was up top. I thought I would pull much harder at high end, but it was damn close, very fun race. Anyways, I am not sure what the Z06 does in the 1/4mile but that’s how it went down, not sure where my car is in the 1/4 mile either. Thanks for reading.

I don't see what's the big deal. Of course they're fast. v8s have something that smaller motors don't have as much. It's called a power band. It's all about getting up there and staying up there, it's not just about getting to your peak at the end and holding it for just a few hundred rpms. that's why a 500 hp v8 isn't the same as a 500 hp rotary.
I can't wait til I get turbos... 800hp on 91 octane!
