I used heavy duty 5mm rivets which were overkill for the most part and actually cracked the left side of the left guard because the pin just about came out of the rivet before it broke off. 3 or 4mm rivets should probably give those of you, who haven't done yours yet, a more smooth look with no minor cracking.

 

Looks great!! Did you tape them in place then drill through the bumper and guard at time? That seems to be the logical way....right?

 

yup, tape on, drill holes, tape off, clean up any debris from the drilling, rivet.

So Kevin, any plans on some more parts? I am looking for some CF headlight door lids for my FC. One is a little tweaked (fatass must have sat on it).

yeah, we are planning on making the S5 T2 Front lip and we will probably start another interest thread since the last one was deleted by the mod because of some misunderstanding. As far as for other products such as the headlight lids, we will make it as long as there are more than 15 people interested in the product in a serious manner.

 

Are they going to set up a sub-forum for you? That way specific requests are easier for you to find and keep organized.

 

we were actually planning on purchasing that but unfortunately the new owner of the forum raised the vendor fees by multiple times as compared to before. So I don't think it is worth the investment to get our own vendor section. We might purchase a basic vendor program just to give us some degree of advertisement and posting privilege, just to make things easier.

well, i took pictures of mine to put up here, but the files were too big, and im not that great with computers to figure out how to compress them.
so, they cracked right in the middle (long-ways) when they were pushed up to the bumper. still look really great, and it was just the clear coat that cracked, so no big deal.

 

The problem with thin CF parts is the brittle nature of the material. So you gotta be extra careful when you try to push or bend them. If you want a replacement, we can offer you a discount so you can just purchase one to replace the cracked one. Let me know if you are interested! Sorry to hear that, and everyone else who have not installed please be gentle with them. Even though they are CF but they are fairly thin and brittle. Happy holiday!

Mm looks interesting, not sure if it rides up high enough to block all the black smoke residue. Anyway is it better to just get 2 open ones even if you have a single exit exhaust. Do people use the closed one or is it basically a waste of money. I also don't really like the idea of holes going into my bumper.
