What's Old is New Again in El Paso, TX!
I have a 84 GSL-SE that I purchased a little over 2 months ago. The car has an interesting history. If you look out on the U tube, this car was for sale back in 2013; it had 104,000 +/- on it. Looks like some guy in California bought, then sold it again this past spring having 110,000 +/- on it. So, yeah 6k miles in 5 years? I suppose it possible. Since having it, there have been lots of surprises with the maintenance this car had. P/S was shot, so I ripped that out and replaced with a manual rack. AC needs repair. The heater core is supposedly shot; heater is bypassed in the engine bay. The guy had a 160F thermostat. and the real head scratcher... he had 3 plugs of one type and 1 of another, hand tightened, not torqued and the idle speed was like 1500.
So, yeah, definately a project. I have it running pretty well now. Wish I had the PS, that manual steering is a real $%T^* . I have the whole setup sitting in a box, so perhaps someday.
Anyway, I am in El Paso, TX. If any of you are in the area, let me know!
If you would like to see the 5 year old vid :
