Wassup wassup wassup WASSAAAAAP!
Names Ben, I finally acquired an fc3s non-turbo after searching and searching and searching for one that wasn't thousands of dollars for a horrible misrepresentation of the an fc mazda.
So $300 dollars and a trade for a 240sx whale tail and am the proud owner of a spray painted turd. Dented, driven hard and put away wet, blown suspension, cut springs, broken hatch glass, jacked up front bumper, clogged catalytic converter and grabber green spray paint have never made me happier. I feel as if though I have saved this car from the doom it was most likely about to discover...the junkyard.
While my plan is to drift it this upcoming season I figure there's no reason to let it look like utter crap while doing so. So over the winter season I will be sanding off paint, pulling dents, replacing missing panels, priming and blocking it to near perfection and following all that up with some paint. I also plan to install some coilovers and if I do not want to pursue utilizing its currently welded diff then the turbo II clutch type diff will take its spot. I plan to run the n/a rotor for now until it inevitably pops and then plan to replace it with a turbo II motor...until it inevitably pops. Maybe a mid-season wheel replacement if I'm lucky and some knuckles if I decide them to be necessary.
I was referred here by a fellow rx7 clubber and friend who also drifts his turbo II currently and hope that you all can follow my build and give pointers with your expertise!
