After tuning the trimtabs, mounting a alternator, work on the cooling, adding a hood, and the latest firmware possible on our microsquirt it was time for an other sunday afternoon of speedboating.

We did go faster! 60km/h
we broke stuff, it locked up goning 60km/h

The chain held up, that was the weakspot we tought

The impellor is ok!

after taking off the chain and sprockets we saw that the chain had been rubbing a bit

this is the part that broke, a 10/15 euro trustbearing

this is how we came back

We are going to exchange it with bronze washer and try again.............see whats the next weakest link.........

Do you have a closed cooling system or are you using lake water? Also do you have water injection in your exhaust a cooled manifold?

We do run a closed cooling system, existing out of a heatexchanger, an electric seawaterpump, an electronic controled coolantpump and a temp switch to control the seawater pump. (for faster warm up).
After the heatexchanger the water goes in to the exhaust.
there is a seperate electricpump that cools the turbo's with sea water.

After a long dutch winter we could work on all the idea's to make the mazda 13b rotary vega 405 better!

We worked out the ignition, added some gauges, beefed up the drive shaft and added an other bearing.

Our idea's about paint:

First start up in 2013.
