i want to learn how to weld just so i could do stuff like that, but the only question i have with all that room up top why not make the runners longer to get some more power?

To our oppinion the longer runners are not needed because we don't need a smoot powerband on this motor, it needs to idle a scream on WOT.
All so on a boat space is limited, we build a hood over the motor.

we got to work on getting it starting today.

mounted and connected a battery.
checked the ford edis sparks
checked oil pressure
check fuelsystem for leaks and set fuelpressure
played/fought a full afternoon with software, firmware, settings etc etc.

it starts up now and it keeps idling. seems like good result knowing we don't have anny real wankels experience nor are we experts on micro/mega-squirt.

Hey good luck with the project. I know of a Shop that they build mad crazy rotaries. they Build the motors for mad mike and they also buid for water speed boat racing. ill pm you with the shop name and you can check them out. They have been in buisness for a while and have much knowledge on what you want to do they might be of some help.

I know that shop but it's is far, far away, i have been on thier website.............We are on our own on this project (with help from fellow local gearheads)

Today was the day for it's maiden trip to the water! she was scared, the motor got flooded on the first start attempt. after we pulled the plugs and dried her out it got to dark to shoot good video's.

yesterday we had some nice weather so after work we managed to get the vega in the water again.
there's progression but the way to perfekt isn't short...........
