U Pull It trade with my stolen car and sold all its parts.

It is a bit hard to believe that I would be in a problem like this but I have to face it, and use what I can to solve it.

When I got to this nation five years ago it was like a dream come true, am a legal resident and be able to the car I always wanted. One of the last RX7’s with a great rotary engine with carburetor.
My car a GLS limited edition you can see my car by the VIN JM1FB3319E08 and the tag was E 926C1. It was hard to find it but I bought in 2004. I enjoyed everyday I had it; those who love Mazda’s RX-7 know it. In that year I had the chance to buy a new car, but I found my dream car, and others couldn't compare.

I work hard to survive in this economy, and have to work two jobs everyday.
The July 5. I decided to go to my job at Bingo early to do the maintenance and take the rest of the day off, now that in my second job I worked Monday to Thursday. I live in Fort Lauderdale near at cross of two avenues, Powerline and Sunrise , so I woke up at 2 A.M. And got ready and drove my car to Bingo. There was heavy raining when I left. I took the Powerline north and later took Oakland west. There I took the I-95 north; the rain was really heavy, but I kept going. I noticed that the engine was losing power all of sudden and I had to pull over before crossing Commercial Blvr. It was 2:30 A.M. and I called my boss Ana and explained the problem. Later she picked me up and I left the car parked and left the emergency lights on, left the alarm on, and locked the steering wheel with The Club.
I left work at 6:30 A.M. and took the bus home, at 8:00 A.M. I talked with my friend Senobia to go pick up my car and pull it home or fix it if I could. But when I arrived where I left it I could not find it and thought the road rangers had towed it. I called the road rangers and they said they didn't have a car that matched my description and I later called the state troopers and they told me the same. At five P.M. they told me to report it stolen because they could do a crime with it. To do this they told me to wait for a trooper where it was stolen, later the Trooper officer D. Thomas asked me what happened, and asked for my credentials, the title of the car. I showed him the car keys and told him that I left the car closed and that my cars registration was until February 2010 and the trooper filled the report and the Case number is FHPL090FF031515.

The following days were very tough for me, everyone knows that with out a car it's hard to move around.

In my car I got to Bingo in Fifteen minutes, but I had to buy a bicycle because there are no buses so early in the morning. Now I have to pedal for an hour to get to work and then take the bus to get home and get ready to go to my second job. In my second job I have three warnings for being late, because it's hard to get there on bus. Two months went by and I still very much miss my car, but my friend Oscar, in the last week of July he told me he found my car in a junkyard, I told my friends about my stolen car. A week later, on August 2 was Sunday. I was able to go to the junkyard now that my friend ***** gave me a ride. That day we found Oscar and went to the junkyard. I thought he was confusing my car with another, but we went anyways. And when we got there it was a

U PULL IT on 4301 S. State Road 7. Davie . FL.33314, close to Hard Rock. I thought in that place they couldn't negotiate with stolen cars. I paid the entrance for my two friends, the marked us with a stamp and we later went inside to look for my car. The junkyard had the domestic and foreign cars separated and is enormous. We started to look for my car in the foreign cars section and incredibly we found it in the center of the lot. I felt extremely angry with what they had done to my car; they bought my stolen car and sold all the parts. I don’t know how it happened because U PULL IT is a large company, I reported my car stolen 2 months ago and even then they sold it without asking any documentation. On the computer you can check for the VIN number and can tell who the car belongs and if it is stolen. I knew that if I had gone a week late it would have been gone. I took photos of the car in the junkyard and have pictures of the car before. Later I left with my friends and we called 911 in 15 minutes a Davie police officer came and when he arrived my friend ***** who proper English explained what happened to the officer I showed him the report number the trooper gave me and later we entered the junkyard and the officer confirmed that it was my car he made his report and we went to the office and he talked with the manager.

Later we left to the outside of the junkyard and the officer asked if I wanted for them to take out the car or leave it there and if I wanted to take I had to wait till Monday because the car was in the middle of the lot and on Sunday the workers weren't there. I told the officer what I could do with car when thy dismantled and took everything and later the cop said that they would begin their investigation on their side and told I had to decide what to do and the Case Number is 09-043372.

On Monday august third I went to a lawyer’s office and they told me it was a transits and tickets problem and they indicated that my problem was a civil problem. I later called my friends and asked if they knew any lawyers that could help. I found some lawyers asking 2500 dollars and 5000 more to start. But one of them gave me a free consultation on august 17 he told that this was a case for the State Attorney.

On august 12 my cousin kennet called me and told me that a later had come for me and had to come pick from the postal office in Pompano that is close to sample and US 1. I picked up the card and it a letter from a towing company telling me that on august 2nd they toed my car from a different direction then the one from U PULL IT and the strange thing is I saw my car in U PULL IT on august 2nd. Now they telling me that apart from stealing my car, dismantling it , and they are charging me $1518.34 for picking it up and that if I don’t pay it by September 17 they can by law auction it.
The last two weeks of august I asking by phone and in person for a copy of my stolen report to the Florida Troopers and they don’t know where it is??? The Case number is FHPL090FF031515 and the office phone is 9548374004.

I took the firs week of September off, but already I was send a letter To General Attorney of Florida Bill McCollum And he say is: I am sorry for the difficulties you are experiencing.

You are getting seriously hosed. Find a lawyer and go complain at the police HQ in person with a copy of your report.

call a local news station and let them get bad media and things might start to move quicker. just make sure you dont make it seem as they sell stolen good because that could be considered by some as defamation of character or something... im no lawyer or anything im a nobody but the media does move people.

i hope for the best for you

this stuff happens all the time. Cars that are a certain age can be sold to junk yards with out titles. Happened to a guy local to me. His car turned up at a pull a part. Car was like 15 yrs old and they said they are allowed to take them without a title.

HolyHell Man!! I feel your pain!
I go to THAT U-Pull-It from time to time to get parts, I wouldn't be going there anymore! I'm with Javi, call the news! It's all big business with them, maybe with all the attention, they will change their practice.

Wow. Things are evidently a little different Stateside. I'd venture to say that the junkyard is essentially fencing stolen goods. It's entirely likely that the car was stolen for the express purpose of being sold to this place for parts. If that's the case, then the owners can't be so stupid as to believe the person that appears regularly with cars just old enough to be off the radar actually has a big back yard filled with barely running cars.

If English is a problem for you and you are a visible minority, then we can all infer what is happening here. You need someone who the police won't blow off to walk in and meet with them to have a rational discussion about what can be done. If that doesn't work, then go to the media - newspapers, television. Is there such a thing as an Ombudsmen down there? If so, that's another avenue to try.

You've been screwed and the System is just hoping you'll go away... Don't!
