Hi! I'm Zeta and I'm coming from the MiataTurbo forums. I have a 95 Miata that, at its peak, was making 250 hp. Unfortunately its been misfiring in boost (even with LS coils) so that number is probably down to 150-175. An FD RX-7 has always been my dream car since elementary school and my miata has kinda been a stopgap to that. I'm finally at a point in my life where I can afford an FD so I'm currently looking at some japanese dealerships/auctions so I can import one. With luck, I'll have an FD in front of my eyes in a few months. I'm planning on going single turbo to get some more hrsprs, win some stoplight races, and add some more spirit to my touge.
I'm a little sad that the RX-7 aftermarket is more sparse than the Miata aftermarket, but thems the breaks. I love making steady QOL/tuning changes until my car is completely tailored to me. I'm currently trying to hit whatever post count is needed to enable PMs so I can hit up the classified and grab some injectors/ecu/whatnot.
Welcome to the forum!! Love the Miata!! I have a 94 M that I have plans to restore. Always loved those cars. Best of luck in your search for the perfect RX-7!
Welcome to the forums! Honestly, there isn't a whole lot more I desire from the aftermarket community for the FD. What I desire is more OEM interior parts....everything else can be found for the right price and a lil research. You have to keep in mind there are probably 10x times as many Miatas in North America as there are RX-7's so the aftermarket support for both I believe is fitting.
Haha, just playing. Welcome to the club and good luck on the search.
I actually pulled the trigger on one! JDM 94. It's gonna take a couple months to import. Car tax 2.0
I know some of yall will think the body kit is too extra, I think its beautiful though and thats what matters

The miata aftermarket is absolutely insane. I could just browse mossmiata/flyinmiata and find aftermarket solutions for problems I didn't even know existed until I saw the solution and realized how badly I needed it. I did some quick math and found out theres 16x as many NAs as FDs in America.
There are a lot of Miata people on this club.
Here's our old Miata. It was an NB2 with a Z-Engineering supercharger and Flyin Miata stg 2 suspension.
....and our new one! Our daughter's actually. It's a '21 RF Club that has been nothing but fun.

I come across your post and your compliments on the ND Miata a lot more than my wife and my pockets would like. I am absolutely loving the RX-8 R3, but my goodness if Mazda pulled this off in 2009....what's possible with the ND Miata in 2021? I really wna find out!!
It's been fun looking for parts for it, because the parts actually exist! Here's just a couple off the top of my head:
Edelbrock has a supercharger kit for the ND1 and one on the way for our car. There are other choices if you want to boost it, too. Both turbos and superchargers.
Swaybars are pretty crazy...about a dozen options from JBR to Whiteline, and none of them over 400 bucks or so for the kit.
The Club model comes with a BBS/Brembo/Bilstein/Recaro combo like the R3 so it's already set up there.
One thing that was weird was actually getting the car. We ordered it and were told there were no Clubs available in California, then apparently the exact one we wanted (white on black} materialized in L.A. a week later. It was tough coughing up 30K plus for a Miata, but I always loved 'em, and IMO this is the best one yet (again, kind of like that RX-8 R3 of yours).
It'll also be around for at least 10 years and 100K+ miles if it's anywhere near as reliable as our last two Miatas.
I got the R7 from Japan. Radiator blew within the first 5 minutes. Got that fixed, then the alternator went caput. Then drove it a while, and it overheated when the coolant alarm didn't warn me that I had a leak. Now i need a rebuild.
