Thinking about getting back into an FD
Hey everyone. I'm pretty sure I used to have an account on here probably 20 years ago, but there's zero chance I can remember the user name or email it was tied to. More and more lately, I've been considering getting another FD. I had a '93 way back in the late 90s into early 00s which, in my care-free younger days, I turned into a non-streetable overpowered drag car. I ended up selling it when a baby was on the way, and I've been looking at them longingly ever since. I'm at the point now where I'm considering my next car over the next year or two, and I keep coming back to the FD. I've considered a used Cayman S, an imported R33 GTR as soon as they become readily available, or even an M2 Competition, but the thought of a well kept, well sorted FD feels like the best idea.
I'm going to be hanging around here a lot to refresh my memory on a lot of things and see whether the bug stays with me until I'm ready for the next car purchase. A project shell would probably suit best, but we'll see what's available then.

I'm absolutely sure you're right. I currently have a '14 Audi S5 with some mods, so I think those would be closer to what I have now vs how I remember the RX7. I also have had a BRZ prior to the S5, and honestly, the handling and "feel" of the BRZ was leagues better than my S5 now. I am a product of the 90s and I miss the immediacy of that era of cars.I do hear enough about the Cayman to think that it might fit both the nicer/newer car but also the feel I'm looking for with the FD.
