Hello, I'm Thad, and I bought a stolen, beat to sh*t, then recovered 1987 RX-7 for $900, which I intend to restore, build, and use for one thing — backroad racing, or "touge" if you will. Before I fully introduce myself, the progress for this build can be found in the build section: https://www.rx7club.com/build-thread.../#post12524524, this post is really just for context for anyone who is actually interested.
I'ma 20 year old kid whose life changed when I watched the Japanese anime Initial D, as I'm sure many of you are familiar with. I was somewhat into cars before I watched the show, but was very much a noob. Sometimes I still feel like I am, there's just so much information and experience I haven't acquired. I already had my eyes on the FC chassis, but watching Initial D gave me two things: I gained an "itch" to drive fast on the backroads around here (in the 2019 Volkswagen GTI my mom bought me to "get me from point A to B" XD) and it solidified the idea that I wanted to do this activity with an FC, and do it well. I've only just recently got the car registered, but for two years now I have been researching the ins and outs of this car almost every day, scouring the web and falling down rabbit holes of knowledge. Now that I have the car, I want to share my journey with you all. Again, further information and build progress can be found in a build thread: https://www.rx7club.com/build-thread.../#post12524524. Well I'm done talking, here's some pictures of what she looked like when I took her home: thieves spray painted for whatever reason stole the cat interior in shambles theives probably slid it into a curb, massive toe out and positive camber
Welcome to the forum!! Not the worst car I've seen and plenty of potential to restore and enjoy! I'll definitely read through your build thread as well!
