Welcome!!! Very cool 79!!! Any plans to do a repaint back to the original color? The car really looks to have been well cared for!! Do you know any of the car's history?

Thanks! Yeah I think the car could definitely benefit from a new paint job, that’s on the list. As for the history, all I know is that the car has been local to San Diego all its life since it has the original “Hine” dealer badge on the back. My dad got it on trade at the Toyota dealership he worked at a few years back from an older individual but im not certain if they were the original owner....I should try to look more into the history!

A very easy car to convert to a 5spd manual. If that's something you are interested in doing I can offer some advice and a parts list!

Thanks, I may take you up on that! I’ve looked into it a little bit but my biggest concern is finding all the parts...pretty easy to find readily available?

Looks like your car was originally Sonic Bronze in color. Parts to convert to a 5 speed are out there, some harder to find than others. You just need to beat the bushes and be persistent. The good news is (besides being a left coast car) is the automatic shifts so low, the engine is probably still in very good shape. It hasn't been revved to oblivion or abused.

I would agree that some parts are tougher to find that others, but the parts are out there and will still be fairly readily available. The toughest parts you may have to find are the shift boot with plastic surround, speedometer cable, and driveshaft with good u-joints. The other stuff can be found pretty quickly.
