WI SB: 83-GSL, near-stock.

First name is user name.

After 12 years without one and some leisure looking around, I found the 83 on eBayMotors. 12A, 75.6K original miles. Fairly cherry interior though some vinyl cracks in the usual places. Dash is amazingly intact.

Planning to keep, maintain as a daily driver until death pries the steering wheel from my hands. Took it for a cruise today and had some Harleys revving for me to rev, but since they were behind me and I don't know if flames will shoot out (unusual with a stock engine, but still) I simply gave them a tip of the hat and a 2nd gear squeal with the SB shift to the left. ;-)

(1) Has the standard oil leak, may fix if I get really bored (https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-arch...ak-fix-864358/ ). It's not leaking much, keeping an eye on it.

(2) Waiting on the relays so I can lower amperage across the window switches. Then I can clean the corrosion and maybe recoat them. This varies from stock, of course, but if you're gonna fix it... fix it so you don't have to fix it for a while.

(3) OMP is working fine, but going with a slight premix as well as some MMO to keep everything nice, happy and clean.

(4) Previous owner began a air ram system, I'll finish it.

(5) Mild rust here and there. Gotta find the matching Mazda white before I dive in.

(6) Original wheels, some corrosion. When it cools down here in Wisconsin I may try the oven cleaner trick. For now, maybe some elbow grease if I get bored.

(7) Looks like I need a new temperature sender unit. Didn't do the resistor check, but based on the amount of gunk on it and the fact that the car did sit for 5 years prior to the 2nd owner rebuilding it... possible. Also possible that wire broke somewhere. Keeping it cool and on short runs for now, measuring radiator temp with a thermometer here and there until I get it fixed. ;-)

Some pics in my Flickr stream: (Warning, I like using HDR to pull out detail on the colors)

And, if you're really bored, this is half the solution for the front license plate requirement - the full one is already in place, the rubber shown there to keep vibration against the bumper down should I *accidentally* go over the speed limit.

Leftover from that project may have given me an air ram to focus those 3 tubes sucking to the carb:

Happy to be without pistons again.

There. I'm all introduced. Unless you wanted to know that I'm a social media consultant, web developer (Drupal/Wordpress) and writer (even published). Always looking for gigs.
