RX7 Convertible Plus
First let me say “Hello”
My Name is sandy and I am 59 years old. I have been building cars all my life, and a couple of aircraft. I was intrigued by a show on gears about putting a V8 into a Miata. The car was too small and very complex to upgrade. I started looking for alternates and discovered the larger world of RX7. I know the rotory purists will be a fended but let’s face it the RX7 platform is engineered for this with the engine set back of the front wheels and excellent suspension. I live in north Georgia and love to drive in the mountains. I found a 88 rx7 convertible in pieces and am restoring (reassembling). I have located an engine/transmission 2007 3.6 (255HP) (Cadillac CTS)(45,000 miles). With this combo same engine weight, more horsepower and better economy. I will be looking to this form for help with the reassembly of the RX7.
Thank you
Sandy

check out the engine swap section for other V8 conversions:

There is also a lot of good info in the FAQ thread for the 2nd gen.
