Proud new owner.
Hi, my name is Douglas. I did read the rules for posting, and wow are they strict, but reasonable. Anyway. I am 25 and have wanted an Rx-7 since I was a little kid. I had been looking at them for years, when just last month my "beater" took a crap on me. Then suddenly I saw an add for a 1993 Rx-7, one owner, only 34K miles on it, 100% stock, and only 120 miles from my location. This must have been a sign. After sweet talking my wife into letting me get it, we went to see it this weekend. I pick it up on Wednesday. I am super excited about it and look forward to getting some good information off of this site.

"Pics or it never happened!!!! lol
Sweet deal man... where are from ?? and where did u find it??
True, no pics means it never happened. But as I said, I pick it up Wednesday so it hasn't happened. But it officially will. Then I will post a picture and tell you where I found it (its not really any secret or anything). The wait is destroying me. One thing I have been trying to figure out is exactly what model I have. How can I determine that?

WOW, so I can't believe this. To make a long story short. The owners wife backed into the garage yesterday and hit the car! Now its sitting at a body shop. Im not sure how bad the damage is, but she said that it wasn't really that bad. The biggest problem, according to the technician guy, is getting the paint to match. This sucks!! Hopefully everything comes out ok. I do not know what actually got damaged yet.
By the way, how can I tell exactly what model it is?

Nice find. It's unfortunate that the fender bender occurred right before you were slated to assume ownership. I had a similar situation with my FC. The previous (only other) owner of my car ran up under a semi trailer at a slow rate of speed at a red light the same week I was going to pick up the car. It made a golfball-sized hole in the bumper next to the bumper lense and some nice creases in the hood. I got an extra $500 knocked of the cost of the car which was good, but definitely would rather it had made it to me unscathed.
Hope everything gets back in order on yours.
Good luck.

Well just an update, I am still waiting for it to get fixed. The seller contacted me on friday saying that they are still waiting on the insurance to kick in. Hopefully on Monday I get some good news.

Good new, got a call from the owner today. He said that the car is ready for pick up tomorrow. Hopefully there is not damage. I will post pics tomorrow if I do pick it up.

Finally Got It!
Well today I was finally able to pick it up. All that actually happened was that it was backed into and was barely tapped. Completely 100% fixed. The exterior is great. Just wish that the spoiler and mirrors didn't fade. I read that Mazda goofed that one. Does anybody know if Mazda will repaint them without paying out the butt?
The interior is in excellent condition also. I am very happy with it. I waited a long time to get one of these and the time has finally come. I feels awesome driving it around town. It definitely turns heads.
