I've just registered but i've been lurking for several years now.
I've recently bought my first rx7. Imported it from the land of the rising sun and has been mine since march 2017.
She isn't in that much of a bad shape, she looks even pretty good to be honest but as can be expected of a car this old, there are some quirks here and there.
So a bit more about me, I live in the Netherlands and (like many others here i presume) have a love for rotary powered cars. During summer I can be found outside driving through the hills and enjoying life in general.
During the winter my car and I can be found in the garage, fixing the necessary stuff.
I have big plans for the car but i want to make it 100% okay first before i even think of upgrading/tuning.
So without further ado, i'm looking forward to working with all of you and spreading the holy word of the rx7.
As requested, I've uploaded some pictures of my rx.
About the rx7 scene here in the Netherlands... I'm not sure you know.
This has been my dream car for about 12 years now and I've been to multiple car meets in the hopes of seeing one in real life before i'd get my own.
And boy.. did I see one. it was an LS swap
I'd love to meet other rx7 owners because I've got a ton of questions but I haven't come across any others so far. (I did meet a guy with an original Dutch one but he just bought it as an investment).
Cool to hear that you went to high school at the AFCENT in Brunssum, I live like 15 minutes away from there. I've also worked at the commissary shop in Schinnen about 3 years ago.
Pictures are from when she was in japan. Nothing changed (except a battery relocation and other minor stuff) in the meantime.
While studying abroad i figured i'd have the car fixed for summer. (she was leaking some oil and blue clouds would appear when doing some pulls. Bet you all know where this is going.)
While my friend was driving the RX towards the garage, engine suddenly died. Would crank but not start.
So after some troubleshooting we decided to drag the car towards the garage.
After a quick compression test we noticed front rotor lost all compression and the rear one only had 55 left.
The garage didn't want to work on it (not that I was going to let them to) and thus it was delivered to my home again.
So i'm currently on summer break from studying and first thing I did was pull the engine and tranny.
Boxed the engine up, and shipped it off to IR Performance in the US (This is still a lot cheaper than having the work done here in the Netherlands).
Also waiting for a new condenser to arrive from japan (expecting it within a couple of days) so hopefully i'll have a working AC system again when the engine and I are both back from abroad.
