Probably a mistake but lets go!

Just purchased a 1988 Turbo II from a friend. The entire car is torn apart and the motor has been machined with a pretty aggressive street port. Rotaries are pretty new to me but I've worked on plenty of piston engines. Assembling the motor seems pretty fun and straight forward. Though I'm little afraid of the tuning and supporting mods with this street port. Expect allot of post for help!

As a fellow recent '88 Turbo II purchaser, it might be a mistake, but it's a beautiful one.

Welcome! Be sure and purchase the Atkins Rotary engine dvd. A lot of excellent information on there and it will assist you in assembling your engine. Do you have any pics of the car to share?

Haven't picked up the car yet, still at my buddies house. Definitely will get the dvd, I was also considering getting the Atkins rebuild kit with Mazda apex seals. Any opinions on the Atkins kit? Seems the like it's the best bang for your buck.

No pictures yet, car is still at my buddies house. I was definitely going to get the rebuild dvd, seem like it's got allot of information that the youtube videos lack. I've also heard some people praise Atkins rebuild kits and others hate it. Any options on it? My plan was to purchase the Atkins kit with Mazda apex seals.
