Phil from Perth in Western Australia
Hello,
Phil here, from Perth in Western Australia.
Confession: I don’t own an RX-7. I probably never will (but I would like to, particularly the 1988 Anniversary convertible that was sold here in Australia). Unfortunately, I don’t have the room or use for such a vehicle.
So, why am I here? Because whilst searching for photos and information about using a hydraulic press to replace control arm suspension bushes, I came across a thread here, particularly this photo: https://www.rx7club.com/suspension-w...2/#post6905297
This solved a problem of how to access a particular suspension bush on an Australian Ford Falcon. I was completely stumped until I came across that photo.
Since then, I have figured out a lot about how to push old suspension bushes out and new ones in. The car that I am working on (Ford Falcon) is nothing like an RX-7 but a lot of the same principles will apply. So, I figured I’d add my photos and experiences to that thread (or somewhere more relevant). Maybe it will help other people to learn more about maintaining their RX-7, or any other car.
That one photo on this forum helped me to solve one problem, which then lead to coming up with a bunch of ways to solve other problems.
I’ll contact one of the moderators and see if I can get permission to post my text and photos.
