Hi, my name is Ray and I joined this forum to learn about RX7 and get some help. I have a Magnum GT factory assembled kitcar with a rotary 13b engine and a Holley 600 carburetor. The car is not in a driving condition and it has been sitting for more then 5 years. I am slowly bringing this car back to life following some guidelines I found on this site.

hi guys, on my Magnum GT, the L coil was not wired up at all and there were 4 loose wires hanging. Now I wired it up by connecting the (-) of the L coil to the C prong of the L igniter and the B prong from the igniter is connected to the (+) of the L coil. Both (+) prongs from both L and T coils are connected together and go to +BATT. There are other 2 wires (thick and thin black) and I connected them same as they were connected to the T coil, that is to (+) and (-) of the L coil. The one (thick black I think) goes to the ignition switch and the other (thin black) goes to the GRND (-BATT). The color coding on those igniters wires is not like the original wires, so I had to go by C and B prongs instead. Is it true that C prongs from both igniters go to L and T coil (-)?

Done so far:
- new oil and oil filter
- replaced spark plugs and cables
- re-connected the L coil
- drained coolant, replaced the high pressure cap
- disconnected cooling fans (see pics). They were 10" diameter (too small I think for Colorado).
- replaced the fuel filter
- reconnected the throttle bracket (this took a while to figure out see pics)
To do:
- drain re-fill the gas tank, with 2 cyc oil mixture (1:10 ratio)
- clean the carburetor using carburetor cleaner spray or sea foam
- re-fill the coolant (10 quarts approx.)
- replace / re-connect the cooling fans (need simple wiring diagram), use 13" dual fans from Subaru Legacy 1997.
- secure throttle bracket, lubricate, make sure throttle action is smooth on the Holley.
After all this is done I will attempt to start the car. The engine moves easily by hand, so I am not sure if I should try use some sea foam and mix it with fuel before starting the engine, or just start it without sea foam. Is there an easy way to find out if the engine has carbon build up and if so haw bad it is?

i wouldn't worry about carbon build up unless the engine is disassembled to clean. just check compression, you probably would of already noticed carbon on the old spark plugs. but to each its own i guess.
Initor C prong quastion

Today was a big moment of truth. After putting some new fuel in and adding some 2 cyl oil to the mix., I tried to start the engine. Only got tktktktktkt sound coming from the front, probably the fuel pump? But I saw no fuel in the carburetor. I should mention that I cut off the cooling fans wires since the fans were half seized. Did I break the circuit by doing this so the starter wasn't getting its +12V? Now I need to check all the fuses and see whether the starter is getting +12V. Any other suggestions?
Did a bit of troubleshooting of a 'dead starter' issue. In the process, I found a breakage in a thick cable going from the T coil + to BATT +. Also both cables going from BATT + and - to the solenoid are corroded very badly. This is going to be replaced and fixed tomorrow. The rear right wheel needs to come off, in order to access the solenoid and the starter. This is a air-cooled VW 6V starter and needs to be cleaned and bench tested.
