Hi this is John from Atlanta GA. I just bought my 1993 R1 from my aunt who was the original owner. She got the car when I was a teenager and I told her if she ever sells it she has to give me the first chance to buy it, thankfully she did.]

The car is an Black R1 FD with about 105k. It had a Pettit streetport motor put in around 88k. It has a Pettit AST, Racing Beat exhaust and a generic looking intake. The car spent all it's life garaged in Ft Lauderdale and was maintained by Pettit. So hopefully they did a good job.

I am currently a Matco Tools distributor and was a mechanic for the 15 years before that. ASE A1-A8, L1, C1, and P1. However I have never before owned or worked on a rotary so I have a lot to learn. My past hobby cars were a 1976 MG-B, and I still have my 1994 MX-5 with a fully custom T3/t04e setup I built and tuned with a standalone Tec3 ECU. The MX-5 puts a respectable 328 hp and 298 ft/lbs to the wheels.

I don't think I will have it back by then. I had a buddy at Mazda put an ACT flywheel and clutch in, and another friend is doing all the PDR work and buffing it. Next I am having the old tint pulled and replaced. So hopefully I will have it ready for the next meet. Keep me posted next time you all meet up. I will probably be going out to Road Atlanta to drive in the next SCCA PDX session in May. We should get some cars out there. It is only $100 for two, twenty minute sessions.
