Not even an RX-7

Hello all. So I'm doing something a bit different, building a car of my own, well hoping to eventually (I'm sure I'll say that for 20 years before finally admitting it's never getting done ). Anyways, I intend to have a Lotus 7 replica started soon, otherwise known as a locost car, Caterham has built replicas of them for a while and I said "Hey, I can do it better" (prequel to famous last words?).

Regardless, I was able to find a cheap RX-7 motor and transmission the other day ($50 to be exact), it's a 13b that came from a 2nd gen RX-7, what year I'm not sure, so on that note while I know it's a 2nd gen motor how do I tell if it's a S4 or S5 motor? As I'll need to find a wiring harness for it at some point.

A second quick question (in the introduction forum... meh), on the engine (pictured below) is an A/C compressor (gone), power steering pump (gone), alternator (kinda need that...) and lastly a small pump on the passenger side (closest to me in the picture), what is that pump, and can I just rip the farking thing off? The nice thing about building a kit car is I don't have to pass any kind of emissions, so I'd like to get rid of ANYTHING that isn't absolutely necessary.

Anyways, love the site, hope to start on the car soon, and hell, you never know, maybe I'll pick up a first gen RX-7 at some point (I love those old cars).

Pic of the engine (Sorry, crappy cell pic):

S4 (You can tell by the Intake and OMP)

The Pump is a "Air Pump" on a S4 you can pull it off but on a S5 you need to keep it to control the 5th/6th Ports and the VDI intake. On the S4 the 5th/6th Ports will be controlled by exhaust back pressure.

Hope this helps.
