Noob to rotaries but not to Mazda - 757 VA

Hey guys (ladies dont exist on the internet),

My name is Seth and I'm joining the rotary forum to do some research before purchasing a FD RX7. I'm a complete noob to rotaries but one of my friends has an FD rolling shell with a 20b already mounted in it, and I'm looking into buying it. It does need some stuff (like an ecu amongst others) to get running, but thats the fun part in a build. I'll try not to ask many questions. I prefer to search and do research, but I'll probably end up needing help/guidance figuring out estimates on how much stuff might cost.

Always loved RX7's but never could afford one. I'm into all scenes and have open ears for guidance. I plan to build an FD for track, auto-x, and a weekend cruiser and give it a little bit of style at the same time. Function first though.

I come from the miata world. I've had 4 miatas now over the past 7 years and currently own a 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata that was build for drifting, and now I'm converting it to a halfway street legal daily driver, and also a 1997 Miata STO that just has very subtle mods on it. Just couldn't get my heart into building it. However my Mazdaspeed Miata still has a build list that would make you think I have 2 project cars and no daily driver. lol

Pic of my miata from 100 Drifters of December for any of you that were out there

And how it sits currently. Added the black hood to fit in with my rotary friends that all have black hoods (still keep the painted hood for any meets). haha. In the process of lowering it half inch in the back, one inch in the front, and adding camber all around to give it a smoother fitment. Figure if its gonna be my daily while I track the FD, I shouldn't need to worry about function too much.
