I picked up a cheap, cobbled mess that the guy pretty much gave up on. Half of everything was incorrectly wired or put together. As a result of s5 engine in an s4 car that they gave up on due to lack of knowledge and research I'm guessing. But I'm fairly certain I've got her together

Welcome to the RX7club Nick. Fortunately, we've got quite a few resources here to help solve your wiring mess. Please see the Second Generation FAQ for a link to both S4 and S5 Factory Service Manuals, which include wiring diagrams.

Alternately, just check out Foxed.ca for them. Our forum vendor RotaryResurrection has a guide here to help you sort it out as well: Rotary Resurrection home of the budget rebuild.

Between the two, it should get you in the right direction on resolving the previous owner's bodgery.

Well I'm fairly certain I've solved the wiring mix up. Got her to fire. She sounds great really responsive throttle. But it won't hold an idle so I put the high idle thing back on now it jumps high in the idle but slowly the rims get lower and lower until it just quits. If I bump the throttle it'll stay alive I think I may have identified a couple vacuum leaks that I've glued just haven't had a chance to work on her much. But i did just pick up an 88 T2 super clean but it has engine problems as well supposedly tied up but it's been sitting for the last 16 years on a farm not being touched everything is original I'm too stoked to get into that project
