Newbie to Rotary!

Hello

So I am 19 years of age. I work 2 jobs and go to school. l drive a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution but due to unfortunate circumstances have to part with it and trade it in for something relativley cheaper.

I have been researching and researching on the FD rx7 because there is one for sale at my local dealer. Price is set at 16k but I wasnt sure if that was TOO high or not. Mileage was about 60k on the original motor.

My big question is, if I follow a strict maintanence schedule and uphold the reliability mods, can the rx7 be a good Daily driver? I honestly dont want a lot of power (jsut around 350 or less) My evo is pushing 417AWHP 428AWTQ but I realized i dont want that much power.

And also, is the rotary motor really that Unreliable?

I need to sell the evo within the week and was hoping for some feedback from first hand experience members on what I should do.

in SoCal you could probably get away with it, but a stock FD motor will only last about 80k miles, even if your careful with it. So i would get a beater to daily...

Yeah Im still in the market for an FD and still reading up as much as I cann before the purchase.

I am planning on buying a toyota or a honda beater for a daily driver and have the FD as a weekend warrior.

even with 350 itll be fastest then a evo haha..

Super cars arent good daily drivers...i just bought mine 62k org miles on the org engine and i paid 14k, its in great condition, 16k doesnt sound like a bad price

^^ haha yeah Im looking into locking my evo as a daily and buying the rx-7 as a weekend warrior/project.

Or maybe evo and rx-7 as warriors and a beater for work haha. I dont want to rush into the sale on the rx-7, so hopefully the right one comes along.
