Newbie from MI

Hey guys and possibly gals. My name is Greg. Really big in the vw community but decided to branch out and go with a FC. It's an 87 GXL. Nothing worth bragging about. Owned it for almost a year now. Treats me pretty well. Was originally dark red but i hate red cars so a buddy and i decided to paint it primer black (like every other person and their brother). Temps got too low so it gave it a nice sandpaper like feel and look all over the damn thing.

Goals for this year (might go to next year too):
Shooting for 450-500HP
5.3L vortec
6260 turbo
EFI live
whole T2 rear end
5 Speed (dont care about the extra gear)
Cage
PAINT!!!! (going all white)
Stance Coilovers
99-2002 16" Factory Crown vic meshies with polished lips and Montana Green centers (factory mkII VW GTI color)

What i'd like to do is set it up for an all around kinda car (i know everyone says that). I'd just like to change my alignment and tires for whatever i put at it. I love road course racing, auto crossing, and drifting so i'll do it all. lol

Here's a few pics of where i had it. Took everything off for winter and nismo bill bought it all so back to starting off fresh. lol winter set up is stock s5 fat 5's with snows and ground control's

last year at an auto cross event. took the font end off thinking it would not rub as much but i was wrong. frame to tire clearance wasn't quite there. sorry the picture is huge too. my bad. not sure how to change that.

Ummm...not too sure what else to put. So Hello to all.

That is def a different look and I salute your bravery in taking the beast to a meet fenderless! Thanks for finally stepping out of the shadows and here's hoping you get that FC whipped into the shape you want it with your game plan!

Welcome aboard to RX-7 Club!

I actually drove it about 45 min away from my house with the fenders and bumper still on. I literally field stripped it right before my heat. Didn't help much but I still beat half the crowd and more importantly, nismo bill's t2 and another buddies 240 with a lot of suspension upgrades by over a second. Then after whooping on it, I drove it back home. Quite surprised by the old girl. she's holding up pretty well having 107,xxx miles on her. I've put about 20K on it in the past year I've owned it.

Only took me a year to introduce myself but i made it. Thank you for welcoming me. I'll try to be on my best behavior. lol
