CA Newbie

Hi guys, i am new to the forum and figured i would give an introduction. My name is Kurtis, i am 28, and am currently living in Sacramento. I am in the US Air Force, SSgt, little over 8 years in. My job in the Air Force is an aircraft mechanic. I spent almost 6 years in Alaska, stationed at Elmendorf, but am currently stationed at Beale. In Alaska i worked on F-15C's at Beale I work on the U-2S. As it stands now i am deployed, yet again, to an undisclosed location. When i get back home in a couple months i should hopefully have my orders to my new duty station, as the Air Force is force crosstraining me into working on bigger aircraft. Hopefully after that move i can look at getting an FD.

Previous performance vehicles i have owned are a phantom blue 2006 RX-8, bought off the showroom floor, a white 2005 Mitubishi Evo XIII putting down close to 400 AWHP. Other vehicles i have owned, 1989 Mazda 323 SE, 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 single cab short bed with a 360 in it, a 2003 Ford Ranger 4x4, 1989 Chevy S10 Blazer, 1988 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L, 2005 Jeep Wrangler. Currently i own a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 TRX4 offroad edition quad cab with a Hemi. Its electric blue and i bought it for my wife. 2011 Kia Soul+ also for my wife, so i dont have to keep the thirsty Hemi filled up. Last but not least i drive a '91 Acura Integra GS 2 dr. It is nothing to write home about, but i did get the car for free. The guy i got it from thought it had a blown engine so i took it off his hands. I replaced a $63 ignition switch and she started right up. It did however break down on me 2 weeks before i deployed... from my experience i would say my alternator took a crap.

I am happily married for almost 5 yrs to a wonderful little fiesty Korean woman, who has a thing for big trucks(not lifted just big) and fast cars. I met her in AK. Hopefully i can get her approval after the move to aquire a new car. I know a little about rotaries, from the 2 years i owned my RX-8, i loved that car too death and it was slightly modded. However due to circumstances i had to sell it and a piece of me has been missing since. I love rotaries and hope to one day contribute atleast something to this forum. If anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

The only parts i missed were, when owning my RX8 i got a cat and named it Rotor , i love working on cars, and i would have to say my favorite RX7 is a 1993 CYM R1. i have seen some beautiful ones on here.

Welcome man,

I bet that's a change from Alaska to Sacramento. I live in Vallejo and go up to Sac alot to visit friends and boy it gets hot. Sorry to hear about you losing your Mazda. I felt the same way when I sold my heavily modded 95Integra and my previous car a 2003WRX. You will get the feeling back when you get another project car. I did when i just bought this 86 Turbo II. Good luck!

Looks like a move is in store, I got an assignment to Travis AFB. So i will be moving over towards Vacaville now. A whole 45mins away lol. Anyways after the move i am probably gonna be looking for a S5. One without a sunroof . I will post a WTB add once i get back from this deployment and get settled into my new house.
