newbie 1967 912 porsche with a 12a
Hello All,
I have a 1967 912 with a 12a in the back. a 650 carburator and homemade headers using old flanges from stock exhaust. i got the engine in and started, not sure if the wiring for the ignition system is properly wired. idles at 1500 and hard to start. has no choke and evedently the carb is 10 years old. my rotary experience is limited, but can figuer things out with proper direction. you can see my car on youtube it's the yellow and black one

Idles at 1500, hard to start, 10 yr old carb...normally, I'd say vacuum leak, but here, you really need to get that carb straight before you go any further...since it's a '67 Porsche, it should be exempt from emissions, so copy off the tech sections and FAQ's about removing the rat's nest and rebuilding the Nikki...between those two sources, you should be able to get that rotary purring in short order.

12a in a 912 porsche
i went the arcives, and i think it's flooding. i do have a fuel pump switch, so im going to try and start it with pump off. see what happens. also trying to install an aftermarket water temp guage, and having trouble with fitting the one from autometer to the stock 81 12a position. may need a step up adapter. whats everyone using?
