So I guess I'm supposed to introduce myself. I'm Erika in sunny So Cal. I just inherited my dad's 1987 RX7 which he bought new with a whopping 69 miles on the odometer. Car needs some work, and am hoping to do as much of the work as I can myself. Bear with me, I may ask some pretty dumb questions.
Glad I found you folks. Hopefully I'm in the right place.

Hey Erika, just got mine too. Guess we're freshman together. I'll be working on my intro post as soon as I'm through getting the sucker smog'd. I'm right across the Port from you by CSULB. All the best.

Haven't even gotten to the smogging -- brought it down form Washington and have only driven it a few times, now seem to have clutch issues.
Please let me know how smog goes --- I'm dreading it.

Erika,
First, the only dumb question is the one you don't ask.
Second, given your location, go to Mazdatrix in Signal Hill. Wealth of information, advice, and service work that might be beyond your skill set. Getting our cars to pass smog can be a real challenge here in the Peoples Republic of California. There is nothing they haven't seen regarding things keeping you from passing your smog check.

Initially failed the 15mph NO reading. Before retesting, I ran a tank with Lucas, did passes along the 405 until I saw from the over pass that they no longer had a line for the smog test, inflated tires to like 50psi, then pulled in. Passed at that point well within parameters.

welcome. id suggest looking through the 2nd gen forums. heaps of info for the fc there. even look through the archives. heres a tip instead of using the search through the forum i just google my question or problem followed by rx7club. (EXAMPLE: How to adjust my tps rx7club) i get better results from the forum through google that way.
