New member but long time lurker. I have been posting a little since becoming a member but thought I should introduce myself. I have been a life time, drooling fan boy of the FD. However, they are out of my budget and rate of saving to be able to afford it.
Recently my brother acquired an FC for basically scrap price due to a series of fortunate events. It's not rusty but was not running due to old gas and sitting etc. I spent some time helping him getting it to a point where it runs and drives under it's own power and kinda fell in love with the FC. Sooo I found a NA chassis with a turbo swap for sale for what I felt was a fair price for my location, went and looked at it brought it home.
It's kind of an interesting car, in addition to the Turbo swap, it has Samco rad and intercooler hoses, AEM air/fuel gauge, some kind of boost gauge (brand I'm not familiar with), Greddy turbo timer and boost controller (not sure if working), Apexi intake, Racing Beat front sway bar, lower springs struts (unsure what brand or condition tbh. Spring are red, strut body is white), Momo steering wheel. Might be more, need to get it up and pull the wheels off etc.
It's been mostly sitting for many years, the PO did start it and drive it a little over the years but it is still starting to seize up; the windows, the locks the sun roof, head lights, brakes, everything. If it's supposed to move, it is starting to not want to move.
The good news is that it doesn't seem to be leaking anything major, yet. It's not rusty and is a well optioned car: Power windows, locks, mirrors, AC, cruise etc. Plans for the car are currently to get everything working as it should, replace fluids, radiator, brake pads are shot, rotors might be shot, inspect suspension a little closer and generally get it to a point where I can drive it safely.
Welcome, and nice car. Looks like a REALLY good start compared to what i see out there for sale these days. Take your time, get things right, and maybe start a build thread to document your journey. There's plenty of helpful people here rooting to keep these on the road. Good luck!
Nice find, in better shape than most project car FC's! I'm guessing this one started life as a Canadian spec, given it's left hand drive but has a metric speedometer that reads in KPH.

I assume so. It's extremely rust free for this region too. I have a '06 Eclipse as well, and I'd say the FC is more rust free even if it's ~15 years older!
