New turbo II owner in TN
Hello I picked up a turbo 2 fc about six months ago as a new time attack project because I sold my last car. I have not been able to start the build yet as I have been trying to finish up one of my VIP style projects. The car was kind of a barn find it's a 88 with 123k original miles has a very straight body except for one dent in the bottom rear of the quarter panel. Unfortunately the interior was not in good shape and all but that's ok because most of it will all be removed. From what I can tell the rest of the car is all stock besides a hks Bov, wheels, and a fast and furious 1 paint job and vinyl. The car had been sitting for 3 years so definitely needs the seals redone. My goal for the car power wise is around 350-400whp on around 1 bar of boost. So I'm sure I will be searching the forums and asking question periodically. I am a technician by trade but have never had to do a rebuild on a rotory, but luckily I have a great engine builder close to where I am located names Charles, so I will have him for support.

Welcome and was going to ask where in TN you was but after reading the thread i realized who you was.
I talked to you via text about building the engine.
And yea Charles is my father in law and the man.

That's awesome! I can not wait to work with both of you. I'm lucky you at both so close. I was having trouble finding anyone in middle TN to work on rotary engines. Closest I could fine was Knoxville, until I was talking to Milon one night and he recommend me you and your father inlaw.

wow that's awesome. I'm very jealous. Alright that sounds great and if I can get off work I definitely will. That will be a great way to spend my birthday, April 26th.

Welcome to the Rotary family. I just moved from Nashville out to LA for work, and I just wanted to say hi to another Tennessean.
If you’re somewhat mechanically inclined and have the space I would recommend tackling the engine rebuild yourself. If you’re planning to have it streetported you can send the side housings off for inspection and porting if they are reusable. Assembly really isn’t that difficult, it’s a lot less work than rebuilding a small block V8

that's a big move! I tried to get my company to relocate me to japan but they denied it. Haha I am a technician, but unfortunately I don't have a garage to work out of right now. And I hope you have good luck finding another FD while you're in LA!

Yea, big leap, no family out here. There is a lot of work though, so for now it’s a good move!
Youd definitely need a garage to tackle that project, so I guess that options off the table. It seems like you’ve made some good connections with TN rotary people though. Good luck!

Thank you so much, and I'm very glad I was able to get in contact with Johnny and Charles. I can't wait to start getting the fc going again. And best of luck to you I Cali!
