New San Diego area member and private restorer
My name is Scott I live in the Jamul area where we have a home and private shop for cars and bikes. Since the 1960s, Ive owned dozens of Japanese motorcycles and cars, In the late 60's I owned a 67.5 Datsun 1600 and 70 Toyota Corona Mark II, both new. I worked at a Datsun dealership in 1967, 68, and 69 when the first 240Z was introduced.
Currently I do not own a Mazda, but alway loved many of the RX-7s over the years. I have restored dozens of Japanese classic motorcycles starting in the late 50s. I recently sold my 69 Subaru 360 and my 1967 Toyota Sports 800. I will be attending the upcoming La Jolla Ccncours Show in April.
This link below is to a video done by Petrolicious on my 67 Toyota Sports 800. Check out the wheels that are on it. Toyota ran those in the 24 hours MT Fuji races with special Enkei wheels. When I restored it, I could not find the original wheels. So I restored a set of 1979 RX-7 wheels because they looked close to the original Toyota wheels
Here is the Link to the video done in Jamul out in the canyons near my home. They Made only 300 left hand drive cars and only brought in about a dozen to the USA. They were forced to abandon the idea of bringing them in because the new safety and emissions laws. LINK.
Thanks,
Scott

areas in East County San Diego for good photo backgrounds
There are many, many areas, especially East County canyons and mountains areas that have great backgrounds. The area in the Petrolicious video was taken in Jamul CA out Lyons Valley Road, Japatul Valley road, Skyline Truck Trail, Campo Road/Highway 94. Sunrise Highway, Highway 79 all the way to Julian etc. Even far out East 8 as it goes down to the desert is great.
