Hi everybody! My name is Alvin and I just picked up a 89 Turbo II. My first rotary and I'm loving it despite already having problems. I did my research, checked out the car,and test drove it...all good. Drove it 100 miles to get it home and now it quit boosting and idles low. Also, gas mileage! I thought my V8 Dodge Dakota was bad. Oh well, can't say I wasn't warned about the money pit these things can be. Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting some cool folks and hoping the rotary gods bless me with more good times than bad.

Welcome to the club. Come out to a meet sometime we have them constantly.
First thing you should do though is INSPECT everything. TIIs are headaches and are also a pain to work on at times. Make sure there are no vacuum leaks, inspect the waste gate, etc. etc...

Thanks for the welcome.
Update on the Turbo II, I found out that it leaks coolant and diff fluid...still no boost.
Hey Funkjaw, you're right about the headaches! I'm waiting on a repair manual so I can do a thorough inspection. Rotorsport is probably where I'll end up. I work in Santa Clara and I'm always eating at the wienerschnitzel.
