New to RX7s

Hi,
I just took a 1980 RXY in partial trade for a car, and pretty jazzed about it as I've always been fascinated with rotary engines and JDM sports car. The paint is a bit weak but interior, body and mechanicals are excellent. The car runs and drives very nicely.

My other cars are a 1968 BMW 2002, 1968 Datsun 1600, 1969 Datsun 2000, 1985 Toyota MR2, and 1996 Rover Mini.

Thanks for your kind welcome into the community.

John

Welcome to the forum. Quite a collection of cars you have there. The 80 Rx-7 is kind of unique. It uses a few "one year only" parts that can be hard to find if needed. Looks like it might be a Stardust Blue car too. Not a common color. Does the color label under the hood say U2?

Does your antenna not retract all the way? You might just need to remove it, disassemble the drum and mast and clean it out good where the mast tube goes into the base. Over time, moisture runs down the mast, collects there and gums it up.

Be nice to see some more pics of the inside and under the hood.

Some quick pics of the interior, which is quite nice. I'll get engine pics later
Thanks for the suggestion on the radio antenna mast, I'll start sorting that. Theres a few other items to sort on the car.
