As I said in my first post, I just bought the car. I know VW's like the back of my hand, but am new to Rotaries. The swap was done roughly 20 years ago (when I was a kid, ).

if it hasnt been driven in ten years then i have to ask this question
is it possible for the rotor itself to warp at all and wreck the engine aftering trying to start it after a long immobile period

the only thing that could go wrong would be it would carbon lock and since you sead that you got it to run that eliminates that posibility
